Final Fantasy VII Remake Director Tetsuya Nomura Didn't Realise He Was Directing the Game - News
by William D'Angelo , posted on 26 June 2015 / 5,821 ViewsFinal Fantasy VII Remake director Tetsuya Nomura didn't realize he had been given the task of directing the game at first.
Nomura originally offered some of his own input on the remake, only to then be given the title of game director, but even then he only found out about his new role after watching an internal company video.
Tetsuya Nomura relayed the story to Famitsu:
"As preproduction went along and I offered my opinions on what I thought should be done, Mr. Kitase would asked me how the individual elements should be adjusted in fine detail. It was very perplexing. Then one day, as I was checking the internal company presentation video it said 'Director Tetsuya Nomura' at the end.
So I called up Mr. Kitase and said, 'It says that I’m the director for some reason.' To which he replied, 'Of course it does.'"

I was thinking this was probably the main reason why he was taken off FFXV. Just imagine him doing 3 of Square's biggest game all at once? He's now down to 2 but still that's also alot. To me, he is the face of Square as Kojima was to Konami. Love his work and his art style.
"Wait a minute, I work for Square Enix?"
LOL! Poor Nomura, Square wants him to be their own Kojima, he just wanted to make Versus XIII. :(
ROFL. That is hilarious. So i'm gonna go out on a limb and say 2018 at best for this.
WOW! Looks like someone didn't receive that important memo. =P
SPOILER ALERT
Aerith lives confirmed! (Nomura forgets she was supposed to die)
Aerith pheonix down comfirmed for dlc?
This game better not fall in development limbo.

Seriously?!

Did they even start development yet?
It's very Japanese. Things like this aren't uncommon in Eastern companies.
I've got this horrible feeling that a CG trailer still isn't enough to let is breath easy. Like... I still have this horrible feeling that it won't end up happening. We've been burned before. And this doesn't instil me with confidence.
HERE WE GO
Well, atleast we know that the game is past pre-production..I think..
Busy guy. First FFXV, now KH3 and FFVII. How does he keep up with all this?
wasn't namura also the director of the original FFVII too???
No, that was Yoshinori Kitase. Nomura was the character designer for the original.
No, he was the character designer, battle visual designer and one of the base story writers.
Bad sign, I bet this game won't see the light of day until at least 2019.
