Iwata: 'Wii U Is Not Over Yet' - News

Nintendo has shipped just 9.2 million units of its 8th generation home consoles the Wii U since it launched in November 2012. However, Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata has stated that Nintendo won't abandon it and they have many more games to announce that are in development.
"Wii U is not over yet," Iwata told Sankei and translated by My Nintendo News. "I want to continue to build on playing on people’s high expectations [for the system]."

i have both the wii u and the ps vita. they are amazing consoles and both provide very good experiences on multiple levels. everybody should pick one of each if they can afford it.

Correction, they SOLD 9.2 million. NOT shipped. A quick google search and you can find that 9.2m SHIPPED is incorrect.

He says that, but how is he going to turn around this disaster? Frankly it would be naive to have any confidence in this fool. He should have been booted out a long time ago.
What disaster? They are making money. I guess we should consider the PS3, original Xbox, and the 360 as disasters, since they all lost money for their respective companies.
Nintendo lost some on the Wii U, but not much, for the first year, but now they are making money. They have been since Mario Kart launched, and with more titles coming out, they will continue to be in the black.
Really Andrew? You are saying that the worst selling console of 15 + years isn't a disaster? What would be a disaster to you then??
When other consoles are cashcows and it took them how many months to start making a return with dwindling sales you still think it is fine? Just do the maths and some playground economics to see what is going on.
