Welcome to a series of monthly articles. This series will be comparing combined aligned sales of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One with the combined aligned sales of the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
This chart is comparing aligned sales for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox combined versus combined sales of the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The PS3 and Xbox 360 both had slow starts, while the PS4 and Xbox One both had the two biggest launches in gaming history.
The gap has grown for eight straight months in favor of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The gap in the latest month grew by 909,916 units. The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One lead by a combined 12.33 million units.
The PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in their first 14 months have sold a combined 17.16 million units, while the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One have sold a combined 29.49 million units. The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One has sold 72 percent more than the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Lol it's funny that PS3 is what hinders the previous generation's numbers yet PS4 is what bolsters the current gen's figures.

In other words PS4>PS3+Xb one. This is clearly not a sustainable situation because PS4 will not sell 170 million.
