Amazon Customers Vote PS2 Best Console of All Time - News

Amazon customers have voted the PlayStation 2 as the best console of all time. The Polling took place from August 18 to October 5. The PS2 beat the Wii U in the first round, the PS3 in the second round, the Nintendo 64 in the semifinals and the PSOne in the finals.
The PlayStation 4 lost to the PSOne in the second round. However, it did receive more votes than all Sega consoles combined. The PC was just nine votes shy of making it into the knock-out stages. The Atari 2600 was the oldest console to make it to the knock-out round.
The PlayStation 2 is also the bestselling console of all time with 157.68 million units sold during its lifetime. That is ahead of the DS and original Game Boy, which sold 154.88 million and 118.69 million units, respectively. The PSOne is the second bestselling console with 104.25 million units sold.

very fair! PS2 is the best console of all times! not a easy choice, PS1 and Snes are very close, but Ps2 still wins.
The PS2 isn't even my favorite console (cant decide between psOne/Dreamcast) but I respect this outcome, it was phenomenal in many ways.
Can't say I disagree. It played DVD's, had a great controller and an amazing library. I've never owned 60-70 games for any other console. Most of my all time favorite consoles games are on the PS2.

I respect the outcome but I feel the SNES or the NES are far more deserving of that spot.

I agree with this, although I really liked the original Xbox as well. Gamecube became my Melee console although there's nothing entirely wrong with that.
SNES and PS1 were better IMO. Gamecube was on par. Better games but just nowhere near as many.
Vgchartz has always favoured Xbone, and thats a shame... Am I the only one that realized that Xbone sale numbers are with a 100.000 plus error on the chart, cant people at vgchartz add numbers? xbone sold 79.000 not 179.000!!!
what are you on about? are you in the wrong article? I wouldn't mock peoples ability to count while you lack the ability to read.
Personally, the PSP scene in its prime was the most enjoyable to me.
But if you look at the library of games released on the PS2, i can see why it won.
best consoles:
- PS2
- X360
- Ps3
- Gamecube(had good library despite sales)
- Xbox
While I do remember the PS2 fondly, I've had much more fun with PS3 and Xbox 360. 7th gen consoles have stronger games in almost every genre.
Great console? Yes. Best console? Mmmeh.. To each their own I guess.
The machine that bought DVDs and GTA3 to our homes... special place in my heart.
