WAIT!!! "Mario Kart Wii U (WiiU) added 2,538 pre-orders for a total of 47,623", that will put the game on the top 30, what happened?

shikamaru317 (on 05 February 2014)

Probably a typo, it isn't on the Feb 1 charts either. Probably 37,623.

Ok, I think I figured it out. The requests section likely has the preorder data for the week of Feb 1, not Jan 25, if you look at the Feb 1 chart, Halo has 48,262 preorders, more than Mario Kart's 47,623. Mario Kart should be on the Feb 8 charts since Bravely Default will be exiting the preorder charts.

Maybe it's 46,723, putting it just off the charts?

Michael-5 (on 13 February 2014)

Nope it was at 47,623. It's on February 8th chart at 49k.

Poor theif

shikamaru317 (on 05 February 2014)

Don't forget that it's also available on PC, 360, and PS3. PS3 and 360 likely have at least 20k preorders each, while PC physical preorders are likely at about 20k as well (plus digital is more popular on PC usually). All in all I think Thief will have at least 200k physical preorders across all platforms by the time it releases, that's not too far behind Eidos Montreal's previous game, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, which has gone on to sell 3 million physical copies, and who knows how many more digital.

How exactly are "notable mentions" decided? What makes them "notable"? Because there are a lot of titles that got more pre-orders than the "notable mentions". It feels like they're just whatever the author happens to be cheering for at the time.

IndyCrew2 (on 07 February 2014)

You make a valid point. It seems like Fable Anniversary which was released on Feb 4th would have made a notable mention. Also, with the beta testing of Elder Scrolls Online it would be interesting to see how many preorders are for the console versions. Even a chart would be interesting to view.

I think inFAMOUS is gonna be bigger than titanfall on first week...

Recon1O1 (on 05 February 2014)

I'm surprised Destiny isn't getting more POs on PS360. I made some predictions that are going to be massively off. :p

y2jarmyofficial (on 05 February 2014)

Way to go titanfall:)

NYANKS (on 05 February 2014)

Titanfall will unfortunately sell over Infamous, but I'm surprised the preorders are even close. Not bad?

Michael-5 (on 13 February 2014)

Titanfall will outsell InFamous in North America. Europe & Japan are a different story, so worldwide anything can happen.
