Developer Wargaming has announced that its free-to-play title World of Tanks has surpassed 60 million registered players. In order to celebrate this milestone Wargaming released a new trailer for the title. It will also be playable at E3 next week.

World of Tanks passed 45 million registered players in December 2012 and peaked at 617,000 players on one server at the same time. The game has tripled the number of registered users in just a year from 20 million in early 2012.

"Our key objectives for the year 2013 are many — deliver two new online free-to-play worlds, continued the expansion of World of Tanks with creative and passionate new content, and further reinforce our ties with our community," said Wargaming CEO Victor Kislyi in December.

Wargaming West, the developers latest studio, will be unveiling its first console title at E3 next week.

That's good for them but they're at risk: Warthunder has basically killed Word of Warplanes. WoT is safe since people have invested so much time in grinding their tanks but Warships better come out soon and it better be good.
