One Piece: Pirate Warriors 2 Pre-orders Above 500,000 in Japan
by William D'Angelo, posted on 04 March 2013 / 3,744 ViewsNamco Bandai president and representative director Satoshi Oshita have announced that One Piece: Pirate Warriors 2 pre-orders have passed 500,000 in Japan. The announcement was translated by Gematsu.
The first game in the series launched in March 2012 for the PlayStation 3 and has sold 860,000 units to date in Japan according to VGChartz. The game has sold more than one million units worldwide.
One Piece: Pirate Warriors 2 is set to be released on March 20 in Japan for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita. It will be released in North America and Europe this summer.

According to the trailer for this game the original sold 1.2 million copies.
Will have a bigger openning day than the first game. Pirate warriors openned with 650k in Japan.

500k pre-orders for PS3 only? You compared to PS3, so I'm under the impression Vita didn't get many pre-orders.
The Namco Bandai rep only released one number, he didn't break it down into PS3/Vita.
I presume the comparison is because there was a previous PS3 game to compare it to. There's no previous One Piece Musou game on PSV to compare with.
