PopCap Lays Off 96 Employees, Closes Dublin Office - News
by William D'Angelo , posted on 24 September 2012 / 6,447 ViewsPopCap, speaking with Gamasutra, has announced they have closed down their Dublin, Ireland office and have laid off 96 employees. The news comes a month after the company was trying to figure out whether the Dublin office was financially worth it.
PopCap's senior PR director Garth Chouteau did note that the company will help the employees who were laid off find other jobs. Either in other PopCap offices, at Electronic Arts, or with other companies in Ireland.
"Europe remains a critical market for PopCap and we will continue to grow our presence through centralized services operated from our North American offices and through the extensive European EA network," said Chouteau.

sigh, a hit to my homeland in both where I live and games I love, annoying to hear.
popcap needs to make a peggle sequel... i mean, take peggle 1, make 50 new boards and also keep the old ones then release it for $15 on XBL arcade.
you mean peggle nights? I would have rathered to see something like a retail release of plants vs zombies on the 3ds at not an over the top nuts price like the angry birds trilogy will get on that system, kids would go mad for it.... I'd say.
peggle nights was an an expansion pack/dlc, and though awesome, they should do more
peggle + peggle nights + 100 new boards and maybe a new character or 2. for $15.
when you have a good game, just expand on it instead of doing nothing.
PvZ is free on PC this halloween, but hand held versions wouldn't be too bad.
