Welcome to the ‘Top 10’ weekly feature. Each week we will be taking a look at the top 10 selling games in a particular genre, platform, most recent month, even sprinkling in the top 10 selling games from a past year. All sales specified will be worldwide, unless stated otherwise.

In the last four weeks we have taken a look at some of the biggest publishers in gaming, three of which are first party, and the other was first party a little over 10 years ago. This week we will be taking a look at the biggest third party publisher, Electronic Arts, including games that were bundled. However this list does not include EA Sports, which will be looked at in next week’s Top 10. If there is a particular top 10 you want to see leave a comment and it may be featured in a future top 10.

The Guinness Book of World Records includes the original Sims as 'best selling PC game of all time' at 16 million units shipped. I know, I know, shipped vs sold, but these numbers were released in 2005 and so the 6 million difference is obviously erroneous. These articles will not be accurate until you have a site-wide revision of your data, or stop listing PC games completely. I do not like Ea as a company, but misrepresenting their games like this just isn't professional.

godemperor (on 29 May 2012)

Both sims 2 and sims 3 have shipped 13 and 10 million according to EA, and neither are shown on the 10 list is quite baffling. Even sims 2 pets shipped 5 million

Yep, as of May 2011 the franchise as a whole has moved over 150 million units. A 10 second google search will find multiple sources that have proper data for the games listed here and more. And we wonder why the site is berated for its accuracy.

I guess the proper question to ask would be, what will it take to fix accuracy issues? More people? Money?

And Fifa still doesn't exist on the other side of the Atlantic...

i feel like the need for speed series has drastically gone down hill

DanneSandin (on 30 May 2012)

so the Sims 2 and 3 sold less than... 3 million each? bullocks. This article is faulty!

VGKing (on 29 May 2012)

EA should focus on quality over quantity. Quantity clearly isn't working out for them.

Salnax (on 29 May 2012)

EA looks like a company of a bygone era other than Battlefield 3.

feoinc (on 02 June 2012)

From The Sims 2 wikipedia page: "Sims Fans Embark on Exotic Travels as EA Announces The Sims 2 Bon Voyage" (Press release). Electronic Arts. 2007-07-26. Retrieved 2008-10-12. "The Sims 2 shipped in September 2004 with sales already topping 13M units worldwide, it was the best selling PC game of 2004.", someone needs to make its homework.....

elazz (on 31 May 2012)

Can you also create an article about EA Sports. I'm interested whether those yearly games sell more these days like FIFA (which has set records with their latest installment)

hunter_alien (on 30 May 2012)

This is BS... you should have complete PC data or dont include them at all, and dont add EA sports titles separatly ;-) This list is pretty awful, no offense to the author :-P

Araknie (on 30 May 2012)

I'm glad EA made this chart whit only their good games.

kumagawa (on 29 May 2012)

I'm surprised the sims has sold so little.

Wow, not a single Madden game. And only 2 Sims titles, I'm surprised Sims 3 hasn't sold better.

Salnax (on 29 May 2012)

EA Sports later.

sort of funny for all the fuss we make about their sports portfolio there isn't a single sports game on there.
