If you are looking for a shooter where, for the vast majority, the community likes working together toward a common goal, this is your game.  I'm done with people looking out only for themselves and their statistics while ignoring the win/loss column, and after playing BC2 I've found that a lot of other folks are tired of the selfish gameplay as well.

I have had a great time playing this game, and I've made a lot of friends while playing it.  I highly recommend picking this game up if you're into teamwork and excellent physics.

The destruction 2.0 engine is fantastic and adds an element to the game that makes the dramatic moments even more...dramatic.  The ambient noises and visuals are also excellent and whether it's the reflection in the water, or the dust being kicked up in the desert, you really get a sense of being there.

Aside from some small balance issues current addressed on PC and are soon to be brought over to the consoles, this game really shines amidst the glitched/hacked gameplay present in some other shooters.

If you're really on the fence, rent it first.  But I think you'll find it to be a very solid shooter from top to bottom.  The only downside would be the price tag at $65 for the console versions.  Although I bought it opening night, so it might have dropped a few dollars since then.
