This game has had a second chance through the digital version sold on eShop. That version allows you to delete your saves, unlike the retail version. A lot of people got this game when it went on sale o eShop for just $9.99 and it still has a very active online community.

due to the one saving slot and impossibility to reset the few used copies I saw around are sold very cheap. I bought a few at HMV for £2.98 and sold them on ebay for £10. Not bad. At least i did pay my copy back.

Just wow at thewastedyouth...what are you talking about? Do you even own the game? I do, and i can personally vouch for there being no single player campaign. You play through stages and repeat then, yes i said repeat them unlocking more weapons as you go etc. you really need to get your facts straight before posting ill informed comments. You can replay the game believe me i have done many many times.

what? this game was released ages ago. And there's not "single player campaign" it's just an expansion of the mercenaries mode from RE4 and RE5 with local and online multiplayer, zero story and a some unlockables. Maybe you are confusing it with Resident Evil: Revelations. In REV you can erase your data unlike this one. BUY RESIDENT EVIL REVELATIONS.

Supposedly Capcom wants to keep their game from being sold on the used game market, which is understandable, but the way they implemented it through limiting you to only one save per game, ever, has far wider implications that would only hurt you as the consumer:

- You cannot start over, unless you want to shell out another $40 for a new game.
- You cannot replay the game, unless you want to shell out another $40 for a new game.

And this doesn't even mention not being able to lend your game to your friends, something that not everyone does but is still worth mentioning. I don't care how great the game is. The best game I ever played came out 15 years ago and I still play it occasionally today because I love it, and part of the reason why I love it so much is because of all the things I've discovered through replaying it and the memories built up around that. When this game comes out, assuming you play through it right away, you won't be able to play the single player campaign a month from when you buy it because of this single save only feature. You won't be able to evaluate your mistakes and give it another go. This is the equivalent of paying $15 for a DVD movie and only being able to watch it once. Even if the single player is the best the world has ever seen, it means nothing if Capcom limits you to enjoying it only once and from enjoying it to its fullest extent. DO NOT BUY.

The appstore game is not the same as this one and it's almost unplayable (at least to me)

A similar game (I think is the same really) it's available on the appstore for 5$, so yeah sales aren't going anywhere in this version. A shame really

Haven't got Revelations yet but this is my favourite 3DS game so far. Very addictive. Will be getting Revelations during the next few days.

Probably not a flop, considering legs and the recycled content in the game. But still a disappointment, and not just in sales.

MontanaHatchet posted 02/01/2012, 06:36
Ehh. The DS, probably more than any other system in history, is known for having games with legs. Games that sell 20k copies over 4 years later. I would imagine the 3DS is similar. It might be a little premature to call this a flop.

Its a real shame about this one as I had tremendous amounts of fun playing it. But, there is no denying the fact that its been a flop for the 3DS.

I'm an avid fan of the series and I'm having a good time with this game. It's not a "must have" for everyone, but it's good. Plus, Claire is in it. Ada and Leon totally should have made an appearance.

Along with One Piece and Zelda, this should keep the 3DS going strong in Japan. And this will will help Zelda breath life into the rest of the 3DS market later this month.
