Was I naughty? I'm on disc 2 and one of my characters just disappeared. We were in the middle of a quest and now there's only two of us. I've gone as far as to save and turn off the console. She's still gone! I'm not sure I can beat this game with just two playable characters at a time.

Too bad. I was loving this game. Now I guess I have to use an old save from hours and hours ago and hope it doesn't glitch again.

Lesson: SAVE OFTEN on multiple slots.

I'll be honest, I bought this game purely base on the fact that it's character design if by Hyung-tae Kim. It's certainly not a bad game, but I'll would probably have ignore it until it went to the budget bin if not for Mr. Kim's contribution.

This game is really interesting me, if only for that sexy girl on the box art. Is there any chance of the first Magna Carta being ported to the X360 or something? Otherwise i can't get it (don't have a PS2 anymore) and i dislike missing games in a series :/

monsta- yea I missed 2 quests and didn't get the achievement because of it.

But was definitely a fun game but had issues. I think too many people were too quick to judge this game just because it didn't do too much different. While it isn't unique or innovative at all, it didn't mean it wasn't good.

But people pick and choose which games they nag on depending on whether it is innovative or not. So do reviewers. For me, if the game is solid, then that is all I need to know and this was a solid game.

Hold on Nanco, still make good JRPG as magnacarta 2!

@Zucas Hey! Same here about 41+ish hours in and I'm at the final boss. I forgot to *ahem* stock up on items though so I had to backtrack all the way out (yikes). Very suprised at how good this JRPG was on the 360, a solid effort for sure.

My only two gripes were 1) Way too easy outside of a few parts. I breezed through the first 20+ hours of this game without have anyone die. 2) I somehow missed a quest and lost the achievement. I have no idea how that happened but it did lol.

I'd give this a high 7 or a solid 8. I think I'll give it a solid 8 just because It's infinitely better then the MC on the PS2.

Yes I'm enjoying the story as well. I'm 28 hours in right now. It's not a great JRPG by any standards but I'm still having a lot of fun with it and that's all that matters. As for chain breaks, already got the 500 achievement for them haha. Love doing those things.

Banpresto is the original publisher of the title (in Japan). And Banpresto is owned by Namco Bandai. So Namco Bandai pretty much owns the rights to this.

Honestly I don't think they are going to bother porting this after the lackluster sales of Eternal Sonata's PS3 port. They ported Eternal Sonata to the PS3 because the 360 sales were poor but the PS3 version ended up selling even less anyway. Magnacarta II's sales in the first two weeks have been comparable to Eternal Sonata (just a little bit better though). After seeing the results of the PS3 port for Eternal Sonata, I don't think Namco Bandai is even going to bother with a port. The costs of porting to the PS3 (especially a Unreal Engine 3.0 game) are probably going to cost more than the potential revenue it would generate for the company.

After about 25 hours playtime i have to say, this game has the best and most suprising story from all jrpgs on Xbox360.

The complete package doesnt reach the same quality as LO, but for me its the best JRPG after LO.

ToV was good too, but i didnt like the story, boring.

Boneitis : acording to an interview, Softmax said they choose the 360 because it was alot more easy to develop and less expensive. They are a very little developer, so they didn't want to spend alot with a ps3 version.

But, if the game have great legs, and sold at least 20k, maybe they will port it.

Did MS pay for exclusivity? I doubt Namco would think the 360 was the ideal choice.

I'm actually enjoying this so far for the most part. Main problem with the game is environmental graphics are terrible. Really needed another 2-3 months of good hard polishing but oh well.

Otherwise story is catching me, decent characters, and great music thus far. Battle system is actually not that bad but not original either. Solid game.

Played it for abit now. And I think it turned out good. Story seems good and will get better. Combat is decent. A nice looking game that runs smooth. Unlike Last Remnant, and Infinite Undiscovery. I like Last remnant but no idea what they were thinking releaseing it with frame rates that poor. Anyways the little side quests on this game are cool and add more play time. A pretty good rpg worth checking out.

@ Fab_GS its real time fighting. But it can give somewhat of a turn based feel b/c if you attack to much you can overheat which puts you in a stun state. However in a party you can swap to another member when you overheat (just make sure to use a special move before so) then swap and special move with them to cancel out the overheat status. Sorry tried to explain it the best I could.

Oh come on! Even the 360 can muster a decent opening week in Japan for a JRPG, if it appeals to the base. Tales opened on >100K, SO4 grabbed >160K. And both of them generated a serious sales spike. Whatever way you look at it this game has had an underwhelming start (adding it's fairly large 2nd week drop if Famitsu is to be believed). It looks like a quality game that will deserve much better sales than it will get. It'll be the 360's Valkyria Chronicles it seems. If they want to make a profit out of it they might need the help of some other territories: Americas at least seems good for some JRPG love.

@ Skeeuk

It's exclusive to the 360, because I honestly believe the development for games is easier, quicker, and cheaper on the 360. Just seems that way. Which explains the delayed releases for PS3 with some JRPGs

LordMatrix posted 14/08/2009, 02:34
Nothing pointless about it being exclusive. Why all the X360 hate recently Skeeuk? Your starting to turn into a troll. I think it will be around 70 thousand or more in japan total but we still have Others and America sales to look forward to. I'm not expecting huge sales on this title but hopefully it will have decent/good sales like most JRPG have so far on X360.
