A thrilling game and arguably The most beautiful game of the 6th gen

Prince of Persia Sands of Time was announced as the next installment in the prince of persia franchise, but it wasnt connected to the previous games and some were questioning the brilliance of the game, well the game certainly must have silenced them because this game was an instant success and after three more prince of persia games having been released still remains the best one yet. While it isnt a very lenghty game, being of about 6 hours worth, the thrilling adventure makes up for it.

The game takes you around the 9th century where the prince and his army along with his father take over the empire of the maharajah of india with help from the treacherous vizier, who betrays the prince as well by tricking him to open the hourglass of time, which shatters the sands across azad turning everyone into sand monsters.Only the prince, fatah and vizier survive dur them possessing the dagger,Amulet and staff respectively. The opening and ending sequences are where the story really clicks otherwise the story basically focuses on the prince and farah trying to go across the whole palace of azad in an attempt to undo the princes mistake while also becoming closer to each other.

"I Trust no one but myself"! Lets see if you feel the same later on!

The gameplay consists of combat and platforming,The prince fights with a sword and the dagger of time, his sword differs through the game when he picks up much more stronger swords with which he can break down cracked walls and ultimately kill monsters with just one hit.The Prince primarily fights by vaulting over the sand monsters slashing them with the sword and then sucking the knocked down enemies in the dagger to kill them,Using environments is a clever way to trick enemies like using a wall to execute your attack on the enemy. The dagger of time isnt just a normal dagger which brought the prince in trouble,Its actually a very valuable weapon without which the game would have become the hardest ever. The dagger can turn back time or even slow it momentarily tough,if the prince may fall or be involved a battle,an occurence which may happen too often, pressing and holding l1 will reverse time for about 10 seconds maximum so you can undo your mistake or by slowing time which is helpful if you want to fight off enemies quickly and have an advantage over them or if you have to pass through a quickly moving door or traps. But you cant control time whenever you want to unless you collect sands of time to charge up the dagger.Reversing time will use up one sand tank while slowing time will do the same, the dagger can also freeze enemies if you attack with it directly without knocking down the enemy.Filling up the dagger isnt a very big chore, you can find sand lying around most areas which fully charge up the dagger while sucking enemies in the dagger fills up one sand tank.

Prepare to Die!

The princes life is showm as a small line at the beginning of the game but it can be increased if you go to special areas full of bridges at the end of which you will find a bowl of water. The same format is for replenishing the princes life should he be damaged drinking water will replenish it.Platforming events are also one of the main points of the game, the prince can run through walls to reach areas not accessible by jumping or running or he can jump on pillar to pillar, ascending or descending chasms by jumping back and forth between walls, avoiding traps, climbing structures and jumping from platform to platform, making other types of well-timed leaps, solving puzzles, and using discovered objects to progress. There are many puzzles in the game which arent any side jobs and consist half of the game and take some time to figure out and to perfect to go forward in the game.Farah provides assistance from time time in the game like fighting alongside the prince using her arrows, they might sometimes hit you but the sands cover up the loss,She also can go through cracks in the walls or floor to open up doors or panels for the prince

Carefull!Dont wanna get you know....

The graphics of the game are its biggest asset to show as the sheer beauty captures the player, while the character design, ingame sequences and cutsenes arent the most greatest ever but the backgrounds and environments sure are,The blue colours of the light and you can also sense the dew swirling around in the air,the red and golden tint in dawn and morning respectively are magnificently made. The soundtrack goes nicely with the action sequences as the arabic songs bring in emotion with the fight. The voice acting is brilliant by all characters, especially by the voice actor of the prince. While the music comes mainly around the action sequences the dead silence of normal gameplay does seem real although it still is a shame that a wonderful soundtrack is only heard on occasion, the princes conversations with farah or to himself cover up some of the non-soundtrack bits. The extras Consists of the classic prince of persia game restylized and thats just it,Theres no other difficulty setting so you dont have to play in other modes and while this does diminish the replay value somewhat you would want to play the game again to fully understand the gameplay and also have another look at the environments

Beautiful aint it?

Prince of Persia The Sands of Time is Definitely an automatic choice to purchase and it should come in your top Games list, with great fighting sequences, georgous environments and more this game is not one to miss and is one of the highpoints of the 6th generation of games and is an influential experience.Dont miss this.
