Exclusive: Top 10 PSN titles for August - News
by VGChartz Staff , posted on 24 September 2010 / 5,317 ViewsAfter a strong month of PSN sales Scott Pilgrim vs. The World comes in at number one, which is something it's movie counterpart can't say sadly. All listing are by revenue rather than unit sales because of differing prices.
- Scott Pilgrim vs. The World (Ubisoft) - 117,000 units ($9.99)
- Castle Crashers (The Behemoth) - 27,000 ($14.99)
- Shank (The Behemoth) 23,000 ($14.99)
- ZEN Pinball (Zen Studios) 27,000 ($9.99)
- Joe Danger (Hello Games) 14,000 ($14.99)
- DeathSpank (Hothead Games) 13,000 ($14.99)
- Fat Princess (Titan Studios) 12,000 ($7.49)
- Marvel vs. Capcom 2 (Capcom) 5,400 ($14.99)
- Call of Duty Classic (Infinity Ward) 5,100 ($14.99)
- Flower (ThatGameCompany) 6,800 ($9.99)
Castle Crashers debuted at the very end of August so while it comes in second it should also have a strong September as well. As for games outside of the top five it's mostly the usual suspects that have had steady sales for nearly a year or more, exception being DeathSpank.

Interesting. I downloaded the Scott Pilgrim demo and didn't like it one bit. Enjoyed Joe Danger demo a lot, so will be picking that up soon.
Fat Princess and Flower must be racking up the LTD numbers. Those games have been out for a good long while and to be selling like that monthly still is fantastic.
@barozi , there was a source listing a bunch of games this year and the highest one is slightly over 100K
CC did well for a two year old port of a game released in one territory.
i divided the revenue but the unit price and got fractions.
the numbers are a lie!!
@Severance
who said that ?
Complete nonsense. I'm sure there were PSN games that did 300-400k in a year (BF1943 for example)
So this actually debunked that rumor about PSN games selling 100K top yearly....
i was actually very surprised by that rumor.
@Hunter
Forgetting our Wii VC and Wii Ware sales there :-P all three services do very well for themselves.
WOW, DD sales are pretty good, and it became a pretty big market for consoles. And this is the PS3, and the 360 has even more impressive sales ;-)
Kind of confusing article to be honest. It clearly says "All listing are by revenue rather than unit sales because of differing prices", but the first game mentioned says "117.000 units"?? It's all units right, not revenue? Or am i missing something?
Castle Crashers was also released at the end of August.
@De85, Castle Crashers was only released on the NA market so far. And we all know NA =360, so I'd say this title has a chance of topping the table on the month it gets released on EU.
That is not nearly enough people buying Castle Crashers...
@Barozi: Thanks. The article should state this though.
Glad that Scott Pilgrim did so well.
@Arcturus
Worldwide
What market is this sales data for? North America?
Decent August, but I would rather it be sorted by sales.
