A new Uncharted game is reportedly in development at Naughty Dog, according to sources familiar with the situation that spoke with MP1st.
This is a new entry in the series and not a remake of any kind. Nathan Drake will appear in the game, however, it isn't known if that will be as the protagonist or not.
Shaun Escayag, the director on Uncharted: The Lost Legacy and the creative director on Marvel's Avengers, will be the director for this new Uncharted game.
The sources also claim the Uncharted game will be next one Naughty Dog will work on after the release of Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. Don't expect an announcement for quite sometime as the majority of the studio is focused on Intergalactic.

Some rumors state that Sony may keep physical media as a "premium product". Similar to how Nintendo is doing +$10 for physical games.

I have not come in contact with those rumors as of yet.
They will in fact still have some capacity in the factory beyond 2028, to reprint games released before it as they stated, so who knows

Why? The second Naughty Dog game has been in development for about 3 years.

If what you're saying is true and it's actually been in full production for a good portion of those three years, I suppose the game might come out sooner. However, if it's mostly preproduction, I wouldn't get my hopes up. At best, Intergalactic is coming out next year, and I bet it's going to take at least three years from that for the next game to come out, so that would already put it to 2030 - and personally I wouldn't expect yearly 2030 either. Add in some delay, and it's quite easily 2031, and suddenly you're already quite close to 2032.
Of course I hope I'm wrong, but game development times are what they are, so I'm definitely not expecting a new Uncharted game any time soon after Intergalactic.
It’s possible that the Uncharted game is not the other game in development already.
Also, LinkedIn now list over 1200 employees for Naughty Dog. No idea of that’s just a mistake or what. Could be they are making even more than 2 games at a time.

Great news, though I wish they didn't waste an entire gen on a canceled live service game and remasters!
