Bella Ramsey: The Last of Us TV Series Season 2 is 'Likely' - News

Bella Ramsey, who plays Ellie in The Last of Us HBO TV series, in an interview with BBC says a second season of the series is "likely."

"If people keep watching, I think [a second series] is pretty likely," she said. "It's down to the guys at HBO."

She added "There's nothing confirmed yet so we'll have to wait and see."

Ramsey stated that "[Video games] are so much richer than I ever imagined, being a naïve, ignorant, non-gamer. It's really cool that video games can work in a cinematic medium. Maybe it will form a blueprint for video game adaptations going forwards. It's such a good representation of how video games can be adapted in the right hands."

The first episode of The Last of Us HBO TV series had 4.7 million viewers across HBO and HBO Max in its premiere night, while the second episode saw an increase of 22 percent to 5.7 million viewers.

After one full week available, the first episode now has had 18 million viewers, which is nearly four times higher than the premiere night.

New episodes of The Last of Us TV series debut on Sundays at 9:00 pm ET/PT on HBO and HBO Max. The finale will premiere on March 12.

The first season of the show adapts the first game in the franchise. However, some episodes will "deviate greatly" due to the game and HBO series being in a different medium. Naughty Dog co-president Neil Druckmann is one of five directors for the first season of the upcoming The Last of Us HBO TV series.

The Mandalorian star Pedro Pascal plays Joel and Bella Ramey, best known for her role as Lyanna Mormont in HBO's Game of Thrones, plays Ellie.

If people keep watching, of course there will be another season. That's how television shows work. This has to be among the least profound statements of all time.

you don't say.
Also since she isn't a gamer and haven't played the game she can't say it was a good adaptation at most she can say that the end product is good.

Despite not being a gamer, she watched play-throughs of the game on youtube.

The more you know.

Good. Because I remember someone saying she shouldn't play the game before doing the role (and well playing and watching isn't the same), but if she watched the first game being plaid I can accept as valid her opining of the adaptation being good.

I hope they replace her as Ellie though. She's fine for the kid version of Ellie but Ellie gets much bigger in the second game and Bella Ramsey wont fit the part.

The second part will be probably a year or two away so she will be older, and Ellie not being tall wouldn't be a problem for me on the series.

She's already 19 so she's not going to change at all in a year or two.
