Read details on the game below:

Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon will offer a game experience based on the mech game know-how FromSoftware cultivated over 25 years of developing games in the series, but now introducing groundbreaking gameplay found in the developer’s recent action games. The new Armored Core title will combine these elements into thrilling action that only mechas can provide. The game promises to be a unique entry in the mech action game genre.

In Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon, players will be able to freely move through massive three-dimensional environments with rapid maneuverability while experiencing visceral vehicular combat. Signature to FromSoftware’s carefully crafted game design, the game will feature challenging and memorable battles along with a fulfilling progression system and deep gameplay, all of it now powered by assembling mechs and going into combat with massive bosses. Players will recognize the sense of satisfaction and achievement when they overcome a difficult situation and relish momentary victory, and perhaps a boost to their standing, before encountering the next challenge.

OML IT'S FUCKING REAAAAAAL

Pls for the love of god, do not make this a Souls-like, I've been waiting a decade and a bit for a new Armored Core action game.

From Software finally returning to Armored Core. Let's see if they can bring the series to new heights using their experience as acclaimed AAA developers now.

I realy want to see FS guys bringing Armored Core to the next level and i'm 100% ok If they make some big gameplay changes, Just don't make "Armored Souls".... Soulsborne doesn't fit well with AC, i would still buy ( cause i fucking love Soulsborne), but It would be a wasted potential to do something new and especial with AC.

Looks like I'm the only one who wants Armored Souls xD

Yes, I would say you are. While I do not mind the Souls formula, I just do not believe it really works for this type of game. Actually if I was being real, I would like for Team Ninja to be the developer as I like their combat mechanics way better than From Soft.

World exploration ina mech with dozens or hundreds of build possibilities? going back to recover your aquired stuff on your broken down mech in the event of a death? Epic mech vs mech boss fights or like, you fighting a massive robotic entity? Bro this is exactly what I want!

Notice I said combat mechanics. If I go by from history, these mechs will be lumbering slow moving beast and that is not what I want to play. Just not a big fan of From combat mechanics nor do I really care about their world building. The formula for me is getting tired.

I'm also not a huge fan of fighting just one big enemy or 3 in a small environments, dying and having to fly/trudge all the way back to recover my mech parts, that just ain't fun for me and would push me out of another franchise for the benefit of those that already have a home in an existing franchise.

Mostly because I love the Souls formula, and could see an Armored Souls developed by From as being a superior mix of The Surge and Remnant: From the Ashes.

But you have an absolute plethora of games to dine on over the past decade.

I've been waiting around a decade for one Armored Core game, and I honestly don't get a lot of really good action mech games to dine on, and Souls-likes aren't my jam, and I see a lot of indie devs just piling onto that train, while ignoring the markets I try to play in.

Don't take this the wrong way, but Souls-likes are coming close to the shooter genre, there is always a number of devs implementing souls-like stories, art-styles, mechanics and such.

Isn't there a Surge sequel already?.

Yeah that's fair enough.

And yes, there is a Surge sequel, but it's pretty disappointing.

But no mech-based games made by the people who make the best soulslike games.

Someone else will likely make one, but we don't need another genre to become souls, if one already exists (aka Dark Souls/Demon Souls).

I think you forget that not everything From made was souls in every design. I loved AC because it wasn't souls-like, I'd be put off entirely if they made the new game Souls-like entirely.

You aren't alone. I also would actively get involved in Armored Souls. Like I said to Machiavellian, I'd love an armored core game where you're out scavenging for parts, fighting bosses and enemies to get materials and weapons. I'd love it if like, the story reason was that you were remotely piloting the mechs so if you die, you have to get back to where your core fell before other scavengeres looted the corpse. I'd love if there were a mix of melee and ranged combat with the depth and variety of an Elden Ring. I'd love if Armored core added an emphasis to boss encounters and sprawling level design.

The idea of Armored Souls makes me very happy and I truly hope it happens because it genuinely would be a dream come true. It would be a melding of something I love with something my best friend loves (he's a HUGE fan of Armored Core, especially 'for answer', the game Miyazaki made). This would be the best way to get close to this buddy of mine considering we have a hard time finding games that overlap with our tastes. He likes Warframe and Monster Hunter, I like Souls and Platformers.

If it happened, I'd be booted out of a franchise entirely, and tbh, I don't get why Souls fans are happy to see others ostracised from their fave games/franchises, it just comes off as greedy and selfish to me.

Nobody's saying that. We're saying that blending the styles of the two could be fun. Just like how God of War 2018 and Ragnarok incorporated weighty combat vaguely similar to Souls and look how good that did.

Chazore Runa216 (on 11 December 2022)

Yes, but some of us don't want Souls in our games, and while it may be fun to you, can be a put off for others.

I have been waiting a decade for a really good mecha game, and the very last thing I want is souls injected into it. Not every game on this planet has to have souls-like mechanics injected into them to be "good", and I feel like die-hard Souls fans are forgetting this.
