Publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment and developer Santa Monica Studio have announced the PlayStation 4 game, God of War, will launch for PC via Steam and Epic Games Store on January 14, 2022.

God of War (2018) first launched for PlayStation 4 on April 20, 2018. The sequel, God of War Ragnarok, will launch for the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 in 2022.

The PC version will have controller support and keyboard mapping customization. The DualShock 4 and DualSense wireless controllers, as well as other gamepads will be supported. There is also support for true 4k resolution, on supported devices, and unlocked framerates.

The PC version includes the following digital content:

Here is an overview of the game:

Enter the Norse Realm

His vengeance against the Gods of Olympus years behind him, Kratos now lives as a man in the realm of Norse Gods and monsters. It is in this harsh, unforgiving world that he must fight to survive… and teach his son to do the same.

Grasp a Second Chance

Kratos is a father again. As mentor and protector to Atreus, a son determined to earn his respect, he is forced to deal with and control the rage that has long defined him while out in a very dangerous world with his son.

Journey to a Dark, Elemental World of Fearsome Creatures

From the marble and columns of ornate Olympus to the gritty forests, mountains and caves of pre-Viking Norse lore, this is a distinctly new realm with its own pantheon of creatures, monsters and gods.

Engage in Visceral, Physical Combat

With an over the shoulder camera that brings the player closer to the action than ever before, fights in God of War mirror the pantheon of Norse creatures Kratos will face: grand, gritty and grueling. A new main weapon and new abilities retain the defining spirit of the God of War series while presenting a vision of conflict that forges new ground in the genre.

For all those PC players who haven't yet had a chance to get into God of War, well.. get ready!

God of War (4) is an amazing game and in many ways one I believe to be the best in the franchise. While Santa Monica studios did an amazing job in terms of bringing Kratos to the then current gen with it's new gameplay style it was the storyline that really catapulted the game as a standout title of last gen.

Give it a try, I don't think you will be disappointed.

I would be so happy and content if they would just let Platinum release their games for PC.

Well done Sony. Software > Hardware. Glad they opted for both Steam and Epic.

I agree with ps4 ps5 games making their way to pc eventually like after 3 to 4/5 years!

It certainly does make an old game feel refreshing!

Days Gone is hardly that old, so I don't see that rule staying around for decades. MS changed their rota over time, and I can see Sony doing the same as well.

This news should be a red flag for VGChartz as a website. The same news has more than 1K comments on IGN and more than 3K comments in a brazilian website. I think it is time for the moderators here to think what exactly have they been doing to push the conversation away from here. And yes, I'm specifically blaming the moderators because they are the sole reason I barely comment on this site anymore.

What on earth are you on about?.

Are you talking about the shit flinging Brazilian fanboys on a few websites?, they hardly matter and hardly have any swaying power over Sony, let alone a forum based website. I highly doubt they'll all come flocking here to hurl needless abuse, and even if they did, they would be in violation of the rule anyway.

No site should have to censor their shit because one race deems it so, let alone when it is game news that needed publishing towards the public (to which Sony sell to).
