Developer The Coalition on social media said Gears of War: E-Day was hit with distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks over the weekend. That is the reason players had issues playing the game online.

"Earlier today, some players experienced intermittent disconnects, login issues, or other service disruptions in Gears of War: E-Day. These issues were due to distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks targeting our online services.

"Our teams are continuing to monitor and mitigate this activity. We’ll provide updates if there are any significant changes. Thank you for your patience and understanding."

Gears of War: E-Day is now available for the Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Xbox Game Pass.
