Capcom Updates Its Best-Sellers Lists - Monster Hunter Rise at 4.8M, Monster Hunter World at 17.1M, More - Sales

Capcom has updated its list of Platinum Titles, games that have sold over one million units as of March 31, 2021. The list includes 104 games with sales over one million units, 47 over two million units, eight over five million units, and one over 10 million units sold.

Monster Hunter Rise makes its first appearance on Capcom's list of Platinum Titles, which lists the game at 4.8 million units. That is an impressive figure due to the game having only been available for less than a week. 

Monster Hunter: World sold 300,000 units in the quarter to bring lifetime sales to 17.1 million units, while the Iceborne expansion sold 500,000 units for a total of 7.7 million units. 

Resident Evil VII: biohazard sold 500,000 units to bring lifetime sales to 9 million units, Resident Evil 2 sold 300,000 units to bring sales to 8.1 million units and Resident Evil 3 sold 400,000 units to bring sales to 4 million units.

Street Fighter V sold 300,000 units to bring lifetime sales to 5.5 million units. Devil May Cry 5 sold 200,000 units to bring lifetime sales to 4.3 million units.

I'm confused the financial report just says over 4 million shipped and although the platinum list says ending 31st it isn't clear that that 4.8 million was sell through to that date or just shipped during that period so some may be there to insure stock supply, anyway whatever the case with high digital numbers its selling awesome

Nice. This remind me that I need to play MH world now that I own a ps5. That 60 fps smoothness would make the game more enjoyable.

I cannot believe Megaman 2 is still the best selling title of the franchise. Not even one of the re-releases has surpassed it?

Anecdotal but I would say as someone who never grew up with those consoles the Megaman game me and people I talk games with tend to talk almost only about Megaman 2

Not if they don't give it a different name like special edition or whatever. The PC version counzs towards the total too after all.

Well the ps2 and gc versions of re4 are counted separately. Knowing capcom they'll probably throw an ultimate on there if it gets a release on new consoles.
