Wow, next week Switch is gonna pass its entire 2018 sales. Crazy!
Switch on pace for most console sales in a calender year I believe. This despite all the flack Nintendo has gotten this year for lack of games, etc.Switch at this point might be a little overpriced, I see no more than a 50$ ($20-25 for Lite) price cut if sales start to fall off come next gen. Still a good value. Switch was one of the lowest prices launch consoles ever. This year was about building a player base more than releasing a ton of amazing games, LIKE THEY NORMALLY DO EVERY YEAR.
Knowing last year was a big year for Switch and we are at only 3 millions away from that total with the biggest period of the year coming is insane. This growth is just like gameboy level once pokemon came out. So weird to have such a big growth in it's fourth year without major price cut or else.
Xbox One drags itself to the 50M finish line... it surely will surpass the SNES with 49.1M, which will be the last enemy.
Sometimes, Console sales just don't compare well. There's absolutely zero argument of the XBO being better than the SNES. XBO maintained sales due to the obsession of the Xbox brand in USA. Trust me, that didn't translate over to Canada (where I'm from). They saved the generation with allowing backwards compatibility, which along with the S/X improvement and Gamepass, was A LOT they needed to do to SAVE a consoles lifespan.
