Publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment and developer Polyphony Digital last week announced Gran Turismo 7 for the PlayStation 5.

YouTube channel MotoGamesTV has now released a video comparing Gran Turismo 7 with the last release in the franchise, Gran Turismo Sport for the PlayStation 4.

View the video below:

Here is an overview of Gran Turismo 7:

From classic vehicles and tracks to the reintroduction of the legendary GT Simulation Mode – Gran Turismo 7 brings together the best features from past installments of the series alongside the future. An even more realistic driving experience awaits thanks to haptic feedback, which brings to life what it’s like when the tires hit the road. PS5's immersive 3D audio allows players to sense the position of other cars and drivers around them. Coming to PlayStation 5.

There's some nice lighting effects in GT7, but this video really just made me realize how nice looking GTS is.

Don't know how much better it can get. Even on the ps3, game has amazing lighting effects.

Gt was already visually stunning

Some impressive lighting effects added, but it still looks like a PS4 game. Much of the GPU power is likely going to the 4K resolution and added effects. However, they should work on the draw distance.

GTS on Pro is already near 4k so there is more than it. RT is likely a culprit but we need to see more to really know.

Yeah, RT is taking a hit on GPU. However, I would suspect it will be fairly limited use of it. Perhaps just on cars during gameplay and perhaps with a modest resolution.

I would suspect it takes between 5TF and 6TF to make the original PS4 visuals of GT Sport 4K/60 fps. Then you consider the improved assets, effects and RT. Its not difficult to push these new specs even at launch. The only real disappointment in that video is the draw in.

From what I heard the car is full RT, but them it is used a variation method for other things depending on the distance it can go from full RT to cube mapping and pre-baked.
DId you watch the DF analysis of the RT on PS5 games? They talk a little about the GT7 RT and is quite good.

Not much different, although they could have use the same places to make proper comparisson.
Still looks like a PS4 game that got delayed and will now be release don PS5.

Yeah, I was thinking the same. It seems like they're comparing plain walls to lush foliage. But you're supposed to be looking at the lighting mostly on the car. Can't help but think if this was done on purpose to make the PS4 version seem even less impressive.

What if the assets are so high-def that they basically cancel out the speed advantage?

I'm still confused how SSD is supposed to fix an issue that is normally a GPU problem.
