Showtime announced it has cast Natascha McElhone as Cortana and Dr. Catherine Halsey in the upcoming Halo TV series. McElhone is best known for her role as Karen in the Showtime series Californication.
Actor Bokeem Woodbine has also been cast as Soren-066, who is described as a "morally complex privateer at the fringes of human civilization whose fate will bring him into conflict with his former military masters and his old friend, the Master Chief." Shabana Azmi will play Admiral Margaret Parangosky, the head of the Office of Naval Intelligence.
The TV series will feature three original Spartans played by Bentley Kalu (Avengers: Age of Ultron), Natasha Culzac (The Witcher), and Kate Kennedy (Catastrophe). Here is an overview of the Spartans:
The series will also introduce three all-new characters to the Halo universe. British actor Kalu will play Spartan Vannak-134, a cybernetically augmented supersoldier conscripted at childhood who serves as the defacto deputy to the Master Chief. British actress Culzac will star in the role of Spartan Riz-028 – a focused, professional and deadly, cybernetically enhanced killing machine. Kennedy stars as Spartan Kai-125, an all-new courageous, curious and deadly Spartan supersoldier. Yerin Ha was previously announced playing the new character Kwan Ha, a shrewd, audacious 16-year-old from the Outer Colonies who meets Master Chief at a fateful time for them both.

Announced over 6 years ago now. This show has gone through development hell. Hopefully after all this time we end up with a good show.
That's a pretty good casting for Cortana. Let's see if the show even gets realized though.
I've been a Halo fan for nearly 20 years now. My money is on this show sucking.
I didn't realise there were going to be Halo TV series. At this point I think that game series should go full CGI, especially for more fantastical titles.
Had to do a bit of a search to find out who Benltley kalu is and who he played in Age of Ultron. It might be his most notable role, but its hard worth mentioning if its still only a minor/background role.
For anyone else who was curious, he played Klaue's henchman.
