The upcoming Xbox One and Windows PC game, Scalebound, is in development hell and might be cancelled, according to several sources who spoke with Kotaku.

Microsoft told Kotaku, "We’ll have more to share on Scalebound soon."

The game was missing from a post on Xbox Wire about the future of Xbox.

This information should be treated as a rumor until the official announcement is made later this week.

Update: Eurogamer is also reporting that several sources are claiming that Microsoft and Platinum Games parted ways at the end of 2016. The relationship between the two companies soured following Gamesom 2016 in August.

Several senior members took a month away from the game and when they returned the game had fallen behind schedule. There has been issues with the game's engine as well.

That would be surprising considering the game seemed so close to release...bit it also looked like it wasn't coming along well.

Probably for the best. Game looked...really mediocre, and this way Kamiya can focus on other titles...like Bayonetta 3 perhaps.
