Riot Kills Off Paid-for League of Legends Hero - News

As you might expect, people who have paid to play as Gangplank are not happy and are demanding refunds.

"Champion death is unprecedented in League of Legends, and we do not take it lightly," Riot said on the League of Legends forums. "We encourage all Gang plank fans to remain calm for a few days until we can fully assess the situation. At this time, we are not addressing refund requests for him or his skins but please know that over the next several days we’ll do our best to make things right for everyone."

I've never played LoL. What does killing him off mean?
Well it means just that, he was killed off in the current storyline and as result people can no longer play as him, since in LoL you have buy each character it's easy to see why people who played him are upset
