You're right Streak they are great sales :) I had the pleasure of talking to a Japanese gamer at an arcade I used to work at. He was "in the know" if you know what I mean. He told me some things about the way the gamers do things over there as a movement with their gaming dollars that really made me mad. I won't tell you what they are, but it made me re-think things. You know, the uncharted's actually each sold over 120, 000 copies. Crash Bandicoot franchise on PS1 altogether sold like 2 million copies. GTAIV sold like 500, 000 copies. Just beat the game...the ending was way to short. It's a decent FF game still far behind FF4-F10 in terms of quality(for me) but still ahead of FF12. Don't think I'll ever replay this game again, the story didn't do it for me. Message | Report |

@Johnnytesta So I guess it is a coincidence that Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2, Halo 1, 2, and 3, and ODST, Halo Wars, all Grand Theft Auto titles, Sonic the Dark Brotherhood (DS), Fable 1, and 2, Fallout 3, etc, I could go on forever, but all mentioned games are Western developed and sold incredible in America and Europe, but in, you guessed it, Japan........yeah go look for yourself. I have talked to Japanese gamers and they totally admit that it is like a mass movement over there to 'not' buy our games. Only a fool would say all those games are bad and so they didn't sell well in Japan. I don't care at all. Video games 'and' role playing were invented in the West and we've had them ever since. That is true history that even Hironobu Sakaguchi would agree with. I just think it is sad that we give them our money and buy their games, but in return?......It is an insult to Biowaer, Valve, Bungie, etc I wish Dragon Quest IX after selling 4 million copies in Japan would only sell 10,000 here. AARGH! Just ragequitted this game. As far as I can tell, there's no way to change the 'invert y axis' option. There are two options under y axis camera controls, and whichever I select, pressing down on the control stick makes the camera look up. Ah man how disapointed I was when I first started playing this game. I thought everything sucked but now 30 hours into the game and its finally getting good. Its just a dam shame you need to invest heavily in the game first before you start to enjoy it. FFV13 better improve on this. Plus the linearity of the game is bad. The central point of the battle system has changed. Removing the ability to control the characters you choose to control directly and forcing you to control them indirectly has made this an extremely strategy-oriented game. I think it's fantastic. Only FF I enjoyed more than this so far is IX. It's about on-par, in my opinion, with X, my second favorite. I haven't been this excited about a game for a very long time. Message | Report |

Really wondering how this will sell. I mean, this may be the first PS Final Fantasy that will NOT top 3 million in Japan. There's no way this will beat out FFVII, VIII or X. I have a hard time believing that. Those all 3 combined sold an average of 8.47 million copies. FFXIII will likely have a difficult time breaking the 5 million mark. I wish I was wrong, though. I have always liked the art direction in FF games. It is so 'not' your typical 'copy everyone else' Japanese animation like most games from that region. Given that most big titles are already on both platforms, this may have been their only reason to want a PS3. They're a minority, and it certainly wouldn't have had as much of an effect as it did in Japan, but I think it would have been measurable. In the western only hardcore gamers are FF fans, so they presumably already have 1 or more consoles. In the Japan many FF13 fans are casual, thus they wait the game the game to launch to buy. Wow, Square Enix really kicked Sony in the balls by releasing FFXIII on the 360 in the US, and I didn't really realize the magnitude until now. XIII carried PS3 sales to new highs in Japan like everyone would expect it to... but XIII is not going to help the PS3 against the 360 at all when it's on the 360 too. Unless the PS3 version is in some way measurably better, of course. That being said, I don't see the 360 and PS3 versions having that much of a difference in sales in the US. FF's true home is still the Playstation, and it's much more likely, I think, to connect with the smaller PS crowd than it is to connect with the larger 360 crowd. PS3's potential sales will be much lower but attach rate will probably be much higher. Message | Report |

@Kyuu There is no way FFXIII is selling that much opening week in Japan... or even lifetime unless the PS3 gets a humongous jump in number of consoles sold in Japan. There is like 2.8 million PS3's in Japanese homes right now You're basically banking on every single PS3 owner buying a copy of the game. At best the PS3 might have 3.5 million consoles in homes across Japan by the time the release date rolls around. I'm sure there will be an incredible hardware boost, but don't expect this to sell like previous FF's in Japan. PS3 doesn't have the numbers for that, this is why they are putting FFXIII as a multi-plat for the rest of the world, to counterbalance the loss in sales they will experience in Japan. Now the PS3 is picking up steam in Japan this year, so maybe they might push 1.5-2 million consoles between now and December if Sony are lucky. But that would pretty much mean that this year has to be it's best year to date. I could see possibly 1 million lifetime in Japan if their sales stay as they are now (which is higher than they have been for a while). Message | Report |

Odd that you bring up Lost Odyssey when I never even mentioned it. And Lost Odyssey is by no means a failure. And of course Final Fantasy is more acclaimed and will sell more, how old is the series? yea, several things to improve the voting feature: - only members should be able to vote - every vote should be unanonymous - it should only be possible to vote games,when a text with at least 100 signs was written - there should be an option to report votes ,that have texts like "!!!!!!!!!!!!..." and so on - votes should be deactivated until the game releases Message | Report |

A fantastic entry in the series, with it's main flaw being that it takes a very long time for the combat to reveal it's greatness. Makes FF VII look like a pile of oily rags. Set that shit on fire and give FF XIII a try. Before long, you'll be glad Aeris is dead. Message | Report |

Combat was pretty aight, graphics were great, musics were godlike, game was pretty long, but the thing is that the game takes pretty much 25 hours to actually take off and feel like an actual FF game. And it still has meh characters and an average story. The game isn't THAT awful, but it's certainly painful to play at times, since we know it might end up be great, but we have to stick through hours of ultralinear gameplay before it finally gets interesting. FF X was very linear too at the beginning, but it at least made up for it with a great story and a shorter "intro", imo. Message | Report |
