Are Japanese people not into action platformers nowadays? I know this one's western made, and they're pretty "anti-western" in their gaming preferences, but this, Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia, Metal Slug 7 and a few others haven't sold very well over there compared to the US and EU. I don't care what anyone else thinks or says this was the best game from 2007, it is Contra 4 not some poorly implemented sequel masquerading as contra, the first time I played it and I was being dropped into the Jungle I knew that this was going to be everything it should be. Message | Report |

I can't believe the sales are so low. You really aren't a serious or hardcore gamer if you don't have Contra 4. I've never seen anything come out recently that has this much old-school and hardcore flavor (the nostalgia of Smash Bros doesn't count). Apparently, Contra 4 is just too brutal for modern wussy gamers! Unlocked original Contra and Super C, and finished it on Easy. Only just got past the second stage boss on Normal mode. Wow... Simply incredible! Lots of unlockables, lots of stages for a Contra game, decent difficulty level, I mean it's everything a Contra fan would want! Also, the music is just amazing. Jake Kaufman (a.k.a. virt) really succeeded in keeping this same Konami feel we were used to when playing the old Contra games on the NES or SNES. Thank you Konami for bringing Contra back to its roots! =P Message | Report |
