Modern Warfare 3, as you may have heard, has smashed records all around the globe. Opening to 7.8 million it's up 1.2m over last year's Black Ops. Xbox 360 held over 60% of total sales, PS3 35%.
Modern Warfare 3 wasn't the only massive launch this week, as The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim opened to 2.5 million units in just 2 days on sale. Again, the Xbox 360 version held nearly 65% of sales, with the PS3 version lagging behind at 24%
The new Lego Harry Potter appealed to 350,000, whilst Battlefield 3 managed 400,000 units in the wake of MW3. Just Dance 3 is ramping up, as it managed 140,000 units across Wii and X360, and Uncharted 3 saw a harsh decline, selling only 160,000 units.

That was an expected drop for u3 considering the ksyrim and cod launch, should remain somewhat steady until early jan though
Damn 7.8 million is absolute insanity! Also Skyrim did so much better than I was expecting (although it definitely deserves it)

UC3 drop was expected. BF3 again overtracked. I really think VGC needs to look at NPD numbers
UC3 will hold up. The market is being flooded with new games right now.
Uncharted 3 will hold well.
Last year Blops sold 39% on PS3 first month NPD compared to 61% on 360. I dont think PS3 dropped 4% and but now we cant even confirm it since NPD have become a joke.
So, worldwide, about 330,000 for this week? Not bad at all considering the two outta three of the biggest games this year just launched.
UC3 and sky rim perform well against a sells giant.
Going by those numbers MW3 sold 2.7 million on PS3 up about 0.4 million and 4.7 million on Xbox up about 0.7 million.
i find Uncharted numbers very hard to believe, especially since the shipped 3.8 million.

@pezus It didn't sell 3.8m the first day. I checked N4G and there's an article stating that it sold more than 1m in its first week.
It shipped 3.8m. That's so stores don't run out of copies, especially during the holiday season.
Also, don't feel offended if your game doesn't sell that well. It doesn't make it any less awesome.
