Overview
There is one game in the top 20 to be in its final week before launch, Deus Ex: Human Revolution (X360). The top five games include Gears of War 3 (X360), Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (X360), Battlefield 3 (X360), Madden NFL 12 (X36), and Madden NFL 12 (PS3). The top two has 500,000 or more pre-orders, the same as last week, and the top 10 has 200,000 or more pre-orders, the same as last week. Two games add 50,000 or more pre-orders, down from five last week and nine add 20,000 or more, up from seven last week.
Games in final week before launch
Deus Ex: Human Revolution (X360) is the one game to be in its final week before launch. The game reached number 17 as it added 14,000 for a grand total of 140,000. Expect first week sales in America to be in the 225,000 to 275,000 unit range. The PlayStation 3 version is outside the top 20 at number 27. It added 9,000 pre-orders for a final total of 82,000. Expect first week sales in America to be in the 110,000 to 160,000 unit range. The PC version is at number 46 as it adds 4,000 pre-orders for a total of 39,000. Expect first week sales in America to be in the 55,000 to 80,000 unit range.
Other Hot Games
Gears of War 3 (X360) at the top adds 48,000 pre-orders down from 57,000 the previous week. The game currently sits at 1.42 million pre-orders. The game is five weeks away from launch, on September 20 in America and EMEAA and September 22 in Japan. Gears of War 3 is now only two weeks ahead of Halo: Reach (X360), however Halo: Reach added 159,000 pre-orders five weeks before launch, more than 100,000 more than Gears of War 3.
Battlefield 3 (X360) is at number three as it adds 42,000 pre-orders, down from 44,000 last week, for a total of 483,000. The PlayStation 3 version is at number 10 as it adds 12,000 pre-orders, down from 13,000 last week, for a total of 214,000. The game is 10 weeks away from launch, October 25 in America and October 28 in EMEAA.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (X360) is the second most pre-ordered game as it adds 58,000 pre-orders, down from 66,000 pre-orders the previous week. The game currently has 839,000 pre-orders and is 12 weeks away from launch, November 8 in both America and EMEAA. The game is currently five weeks ahead of Call of Duty: Black Ops (X360) the game with the biggest opening in gaming history for any single platform.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (PS3) is down two spots to number eight as it adds 12,000 pre-orders this week, down from 17 last week. The game is currently at 331,000 pre-orders and will launch in 12 weeks, November 8 in both America and EMEAA. It is currently only two weeks ahead of Call of Duty: Black Ops (PS3), the game with the biggest opening for the PlayStation 3; however it was as much as seven weeks ahead at one point.
Also in the top 10: Madden NFL 12 (X360) is at number four as it adds 79,000 pre-orders, up from 74,000 last week, for a total of 427,000. The game is two weeks away from launch, August 30 in America and September 2 in EMEAA.
Madden NFL 12 (PS3) is up two spots to number five as it adds 48,000 pre-orders, down from 69,000 last week, for a total of 354,000. The game is two weeks away from launch, August 30 in America and September 2 in EMEAA.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (X360) is down one spot to number six as it adds 27,000 pre-orders, down from 49,000 last week, for a total of 353,000. The game is 12 weeks away from launch, November 11 in both America and EMEAA.
Star Wars: The Old Republic (PC) is up one spot to number seven as it adds 42,000 pre-orders, down from 70,000 last week, for a total of 347,000. The game currently has no release date in America.
Assassin’s Creed: Revelations (X360) is at number nine, as it adds 8,000 pre-orders, down from 15,000 last week, for a total of 277,000. The game is 13 weeks away from launch, November 15 in America and EMEAA.
Notable mentions outside the top 10: Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception adds 7,000 pre-orders for a total of 180,000. Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary (X360) adds 29,000 pre-orders for a total of 149,000. FIFA Soccer 12 (PS3) adds 32,000 pre-orders for a total of 122,000.
Requests from last week’s article for games that are not in the top 20: Forza Motorsport 4 (X360) adds 7,000 pre-orders for a total of 99,000. Twisted Metal (PS3) adds 1,000 pre-orders for a total of 51,000. Star Fox 64 3D (3DS) adds 3,000 pre-orders for a total of 27,000.

Also, I think 1 million pre-orders for Skyward Sword is a stretch. Nintendo games just don't get as many pre-orders as 360 games do. I don't think even New Super Mario Bros. Wii reached 1 million pre-orders. They still end up selling extremely well, they just don't have as much pre-order buzz.

New Super Mario Bros Wii got to 480k in its final week before launch in US.
So something like 400k combined Deus Ex US launch? Sounds good, and hopefully it should lead to a sequel given that should translate into at least 2m sales over time
And Uncharted is doing okay, maybe even a 500k launch in America, though probably not enough for 1m WW launch even with a a slightly earlier in the week launch in Europe than usual
i really want battlefield to sell more than COD since last battlefield i didnt think was very great but better than COD. But this one looks 10 times better than the last one and much better than COD. i thought that COD wouldnt do so well this time but i was mistaken, since i thought people started to realize they only play the same only different levels.

Modern Warfare 3 (PS3), Uncharted 3 (PS3), Battlefield 3 (PS3) and Assassin'sc Creed Revelations look all horribly under tracked to me. I expect to see a huge increase in actual FW sales.
