Overview
There is one game in the top 20 to be in its final week before launch, Duke Nukem Forever for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The top five games include Gears of War 3 (X360), inFamous 2 (PS3), Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (X360), Duke Nukem Forever (X360), Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (PS3) and The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword (Wii). The top seven games have 100,000 or more pre-orders. Two games add 50,000 or more pre-orders, five add 20,000 or more and 13 add 10,000 or more pre-orders.
Games in final week before launch
Duke Nukem Forever for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 is the one game in the top 20 to be in its final week before launch. Both versions add a combined 63,000 pre-orders for a combined total of 270,000 pre-orders.
The Xbox 360 version is up one spot to number three as it adds 45,000 pre-orders, up from 22,000 last week, for a current total of 180,000. Expect first week sales in America to be in the 275,000 to 350,000 unit range.
The PlayStation 3 version moves up one spot to number 11 as it adds 18,000 pre-orders, up from 11,000 last week, for a current total of 90,000. Expect first week sales in America to be in the 145,000 to 175,000 unit range.
Other Hot Games
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D is up seven spots this week as it enters the top ten. It adds 26,000 pre-orders this week, up from 15,000 last week, for a total of 92,000. The game is currently two weeks away from launch in America.
Gears of War 3 (X360) is at the top for another week and should remain there until it launches in 15 weeks, on September 20 in America and EMEAA and September 22 in Japan. The game adds 55,000 pre-orders up from 42,000 the previous week. The game currently sits at 875,000 pre-orders. It is currently outpacing Halo:Reach (X360) by about two months, but will it gain as many pre-orders as Halo: Reach did in its final two months? Only time will tell. Keep checking back for weekly updates.
Also in the top 10: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (X360) is up to the second spot, as it adds more per-orders than any other game this week. The game adds 66,000 pre-orders, down from 71,000 pre-orders the previous week. The game currently has 224,000 pre-orders and is 22 weeks away from launch, November 8 in both America and EMEAA.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (PS3) jumps up five spots to number four as it adds 40,000 pre-orders this week, down from 53,000 last week. The game is currently at 132,000 pre-orders and will launch in 22 weeks, November 8 in both America and EMEAA.
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword (Wii) is at number five and adds 4,000 pre-orders, up from 3,000 last week. The game currently sits at 120,000 pre-orders and currently has no release date in America.
Battlefield 3 (X360) jumps up one spot to number six as it adds 18,000 pre-orders, up from 16,000 last week, for a total of 117,000. The game is 20 weeks away from launch, October 25 in America and October 28 in EMEAA.
Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier (X360) is down one spot to number seven as it adds 5,000 pre-orders, up from 3,000 last week, for a total of 107,000. The game currently has no release date in America.
Metal Fight Beyblade (DS) is at number eight as it adds just 487 pre-orders this week, which brings it to a total of 100,000 pre-orders. The game currently has no release date in America.
Diablo III (PC) is up one spot to number nine as it adds 2,000 pre-orders, the same as last week, for a total of 93,000. The game currently has no release date in America.
Notable mentions outside the top 10: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (X360) adds 12,000 pre-orders for a total of 88,000. Mass Effect 3 (X360) adds 19,000 pre-orders for a total of 78,000. Battlefield 3 (PS3) adds 11,000 new pre-orders this week for a total of 77,000.
As an extra to non-pro members here are a few games outside the top 20: Rage (X360) adds 6,000 pre-orders for a total of 58,000. Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 (PC) adds 12,000 pre-orders for a total of 43,000. Twisted Metal (PS3) adds 3,000 pre-orders for a total of 27,000.

I wonder if Uncharted 3 ends up being bested by Skyrim, what subterfuge will the FailStation owners use to placate the rabid fanboy masses. ´Cause it seems like a distinct possibility.
@hudsoniscool, this recieved over 1 million pre orders over a month ago. This game has grabbed more than 200k in the americas since then, plus the others were talking close to 1.5million pre orders.
Etanclan4life. there were many ways into the beta, and that evident that after it endend MS said they had just past 1 million pre-orders and that was less than a month ago so there is no way its past 1.5 million right now.
I wonder how long Deus Ex will be able to remain in the top 20... I hope it stays there until it's released but I'm not sure it can make it...

Pleased with Uncharted 3. Mass Effect 3 looking good, I hope PS3 version makes an appearance, but I doubt it will for a while.
BF3 should be bigger than MW3... :-(
@hudsoniscool, because these are just american pre orders they announced over 1.2million participated in the beta and its been over a month since that ended this has more than 1.5million pre orders now.
what do you mean gears 3 has more than 1.5 million pre-orders. WW it probably has 1.1 million.
@Thedarkbender, Gears of war 3 already has more than 1.5million pre orders, gears of war 2 sold about 2.1 million opening week. The hype and reviews around Gears of war 3 is much bigger ill double your guess and say about 3 million opening week if not more.

@ NightDragon83 when did they say it wasn't coming to wii? They also have a picture of the box of the wii version!! OT: Gears of war 3 will probably sell 1.5 million in the first week, which is very good :D. Also COD and Zelda seem to be doing good, wonder how much they will sell.

I wonder how many of those preorders for DNF will be cancelled in light of all the early reviews absolutely ripping the game. @primogen18... MW3 is not coming to the Wii... Infinity Ward has stated time and again that they refuse to develop for the Wii. The COD4 port the Wii got a couple years back was done by Treyarch, who are busy working on next year's COD game.
its sad to see BF3 already has no chance of beating mw3 in sales :(
of course if there is a MW3 for Wii (which pdp seems to say so), we wont know about it until a week before hence why Wii COD titles rarely show up like the other versions, we are bounced around so much it's hard to know what to think.
