Also the screenshot below shows that the lower screen in the 3DS will show your sub screen at all times, making equipping items and such more convenient.

Nintendo toning down their own games to aid 3rd parties confirmed? :-P
The updated graphics look really nice. Heres hoping they add a couple of new dungeons as well.
I can't believe how many views this article has. It blows away every other article by far.
....i guess i just dont see where some people would see "the same thing" or "worse!"..... oh well, their loss. cant wait for this game! i dont care if it is the same game(though i would love an extra dungeon or two), i cant wait to play it all over again in glorious 3D!
To justify the quality of the grafix, you'll have to adjust the size of the screenshots. The 3DS screen isn't that large! By the way, in realtime stereo 3D, undoubtfully this will look awesome.
Nice to see this timeless classic making a comeback. The 3DS could well be the system that has just as much casual appeal as it does to the hardcore.
I don't know, these screens look worse then the game running on an SDTV.
Looks wonderful. But given that I already know OoT like the back of my hand, I hope they've got some new stuff in store for us in this port/remake too! :D
Very happy for this one. In my opinion the series peaked with Ocarina of Time, and just went downhill from Majora's Mask onward. I most recently played it after Twilight Princess (along with LTTP); I was surprised at how fun the older games were in their technological inferiority, to the newer Zelda title.
Guys I'm shocked! How can you even imply that the N64 Ocarina of Time graphics are bad? They are not bad! They are timeless!!
Looks beautiful compared to the original. So glad they haven't messed with the original art design. Very excited for this-OOT is my favourite game of all time.
Rose tinted glasses much. If people are SO LAZY then I'm going to do it myself. Here's some screens of OoT on N64: http://www.zeldainformer.com/images/news/ocarina_of_time.jpg http://img22.imageshack.us/img22/4185/n64zeldaootlinkplayingo.jpg http://www.cyberartsweb.org/cpace/ht/kcoane/images/OcarinaTime.png Now I dare you to say the remake looks worse. If you do even just think it, I recommend getting your eyes checked.
Im so happy I get to play again One of my all time favorite games.... I just hope nintendo doesnt charge us full price on this game
Man it looks good. They fixed the flaws of the draw distance; you couldnt see the distance that clear on the n64. The Kokiri place is an exception since they designed it that way.
@ wfz Believe it or not there are a lot of people out there who never played this :p Also, of course they'll make a new Zelda from the ground up for 3DS, it's not like they'll just update old games. But this is a fast way to spice the early lineup a bit.
I can still hardly believe Nintendo's actually giving us a remade hi-res OOT, and in glorious 3D to boot. T . T This may well end up being one of my favourite games, ever. People complaining about the graphics and how they're only marginally better than the N64 version should take a serious look at the latter, it's MUCH uglier than you think you remember. ;-) This has been completely remade, everything from the characters to the environments themselves have been given a makeover, and the polygon count is tons higher. It doesn't even begin to compare. Seriously, go google some OOT N64 screens NOW, and then compare. See if you can spot the differences. ;-)
Looks like all they did was replace character models and raised the texture resolution of everything else. I'm a bit disappointed =/
@wfz: I'm talking about the graphics. I'm not concerned with whether or not people are excited for the game itself. My point is that saying this looks worse than the N64 game is verifiably false and off-base.
GoNintendo.com has better scans and I would just like to add 3DS is looking like a mighty sexy gaming machine
It's like the XBLA ports of banjo-kazooie and perfect dark. They reworked the textures without touching the polygons and put a lot of emphazise on anti-aliasing and the frame rate. And it's in 3D !! I think it's wonderful they do that because one of the best zelda will be accessible to the audience nintendo acquired in the past few years ( + pleasing the fans too). I bought Banjo-Kazooie XBLA yesterday and I'm having a total blast playing through this game again. Brings back memories. I'm sure OOT 3DS will be the same.
I hope they add something to this game story-wise or an extra dungeon or something. Like playing through a level with Sheik or even better as sheik. Hopefully a make-out scene with Ruto. It just doesn't look that much better visually to me to really justify me buying this game a fourth time even though I probably will.
It looks great emulated too but this is just way better. This, MGS3 and Tales of the abyss are good enough of a reason for me to want a 3ds
Wonderful this is how I always pictured a Zelda game on the original DS. I Especially like the touchscreen controls.
Khuutra, you cannot possibly back up this game. It's a graphically upgraded game of the same game we played almost 15 years ago. I'm not a graphics whore in the least, which is why I dislike this game. So what if it's better visuals? I want something new. Something fresh. Something innovative. I want Nintendo to devote resources to a 3DS Zelda game built from the ground up for it, and not a goddamn port of a game we played 15 years ago. It's lazy. it's unimaginative. It's not something I will ever support. Yay, a fairly graphically updated port of a game I played 15 years ago. Instead of a new adventure altogether. I'm so excited. Woot.
I don't know what you guys are on about; that Link model looks as good as his Melee model, or better.
hunter_allen, that would have cost more, and despite the amount of fans that would be pleased...nintendo doesn't Do high cost without more of a reason than graphics, as we've seen.
Go play the N64 version and then look at the screens. There is some serious improvement, tough a remake IMO would have been slightly better :-P
Yeah I uh... well it's.... um.... Hell no. I'm just going to play my N64 or GC version.
Is...that supposed to look good to anyone without actually seeing it in 3 Dimensional form?...Looks worse than my preserving mind makes the N64 version look
