Michael Jackson: The Experience was announced by Ubisoft at E3 in June, with a fall release window.  Ubisoft just announced that the Wii, DS, and PSP versions will be released first, on November 23rd in North America, and November 25th in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.  The PS3 and Xbox 360 versions are getting delayed until Spring 2011, so Ubisoft can add support for the PlayStation Move and Kinect.

The first trailer is available above, and it's for the Wii version of the game, highlighting the four player dance mode that made Ubisoft's Just Dance such a success last holiday season.  Ubisoft has also announced that this game will have "Michael's School Mode," in which you'll get to rehearse individual moves and watch instructional videos for the most challenging ones.  The Wii version will be playable this week at the Tokyo Game Show, from the 16th to the 19th.  Ubisoft also announced three new songs for the game, which will all be playable at the show.  The three new songs are:

  • "Smooth Criminal"
  • "Black or White"
  • "They Don't Care About Us"

The lineup will also include:

  • "Bad"
  • "Beat It"
  • "Billie Jean"
  • "Earth Song"
  • "The Girl Is Mine"
  • "Who Is It"
  • "Workin' Day and Night"

Well I'm glad they finally confirmed that "Smooth Criminal" will be in the game, but now I need to know if the game is going to teach us the lean.

"Four player multiplayer will be available on the Wii and Move enabled PlayStation 3 but the Kinect will be limited to one player at a time. The game will also feature singing on the Kinect version, and optional Karaoke on the PlayStation 3 and Wii versions". ( Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Jackson:_The_Experience ) Conclusion: The PS3-version is the best you can get for this game. The only HD-version which will have the 4-player multiplayer and optional Karaoke.

I'm disappointed on two counts. One, this is not a continuation of Moonwalker (arcade). Two, it's pretty sad to see a person that was exploited heavily become exploited more after their death.

What? They need 6 months to figure out how to implement it on peripherals they've had available to them for development for at least a year?

And the chubby Evan has been nursing for this game since E3 continues...
