Ubisoft Beats Apr-June 10' Projections on Splinter Cell & Just Dance - News

Ubisoft today announced that revenues for the three months ending June 2010 came to 160 million Euros ($201.6 million) - 15 million Euros higher than Ubisoft had expected and up 93% over the comparable period in 2009. The company attributes its performance to the performance of catalogue titles like Assassin's Creed 2, Just Dance, and Avatar. In addition, Splinter Cell: Conviction performed in line with expectations - shipments reached 1.9m units across X360 and PC for the quarter. Just Dance shipments stand at 3.7m units through June 2010 - 800,000 of which were shipped in the June quarter alone. Prince of Persia had a soft launch in the quarter.
Yves Guillomet, CEO of Ubisoft, believes the company is well positioned for the remainder of the fiscal year, as Just Dance 2, Your Shape: Fitness Evolved, and Michael Jackson: The Experience will perform well with the 'casual' audience while Ghost Recon, Assassin's Creed, and Driver will perform well with the 'core' audience. Ubisoft however did delay Driver to the fourth quarter of the fiscal year - January to March 2011 - to keep the title out of the crowded Oct-Dec 2010 period.
Ubisoft expects revenues for July to September 2010 to total 83 million Euros, driven primarily by H.A.W.X. 2 and R.U.S.E. for X360, PS3, and PC. No changes were made to the forecast for the year ending March 2011. The MIchael Jackson game is expected to be a million seller for the fiscal year. Ubisoft also noted that preorders for Assassin's Creed Brotherhood are extremely strong, tracking 20% ahead of Assassin's Creed 2 in a comparable time frame.

@SecondWar, it might, I think Just Dance 2 is supposed to be multiplatform right?
If it is on with either the Kinetic of Move support, it will get similar to the original. I mean look at how well Guitar Hero and Rock Band games do.
I would not count on Just Dance 2 performing well.
