GTA: Episodes From Liberty City Manual Hints Next GTA Location - News

by VGChartz Staff , posted on 28 October 2009 / 63,974 Views

Things to note:

  • "Liberty City, It's Over:"
  • Bottom Right Corner
  • "Next Stop.."
  • "Opens Everywhere March"
  • "Theatre Seagull"?
  • Mountains/ Beaches?

I probably missed a few important things, but if you find anything else as a possible hint to the location, please leave your thoughts in the comments section below.

I have a few very important things I want to say.

Firstly, I don't think it would be a city France or similar country, because I think it will probably be, like the previous last games, in the USA.

Secondly, I am furious at all of these people saying that gta sa is the best gta game. Are you serious?! Gta sa, is, in my opinion, not only the maybe worst gta ever, but also an extremely bad (boring/bad quality) game in comparison to any other game released in 2005 or even before. Gta Iv is by far the best gta.
Here are a few categories to compare between them:
Graphics- as oppose to gta iv's awsome graphics, gta san andreas has not only an extremely bad graphics, but also has a lot worse graphics than most of the games released in the same year. It's graphics are just terribel.
Engine- as oppose to gta iv's incredibly realistic driving engine and physics, gta sa has such a bad and unrealistic engine!
Gameplay- I have to say, even not in comparison to gta iv, gta san andreas is just a BORING game. I seriously do not know what is fun about this game. The shooting and such actions stuff are obviously not fun because of their lack of features, the driving is obviously very boring either because of the extremely unrealistic engine, and so is any other thing in the game, including the rpg elements and many more useless things.
Also, the 3 cities doesnt make sa a good game at all. It just makes the game have 3 crappy cities.
And lastly, the story and missions- sa's story just suck, the are too many mission, most of the mission's in the game are just plainly boring, so playing sa is mostly just doing thing you are not enjoying doing just to progress in the game, and the story is also just a long attachment of unexplained simple childish-looking things. Gta iv's, in oppose, has such an amazing, engraving genious story, and doesn't have any boring missions at all.

Thanks.

@thekitchensink

This has absolutely no correlation to the game being on an exclusive platform. I highly doubt R* would take such a huge hit as making the entire game exclusive. Yes they made 50 mil from the MS exclusive deal, but making the entire game exclusive would cost them way more than that, especially considering the recent PS3 price drop and the subsequent rise in sales. I am not a PS3 fanboy, I actually think very highly of the 360, however, it just isn't plausible that they would do this.

Even when you beat gta4 niko's plane ticket says vice city.but imo San Andreas is the best gta to date and even if they could re-release sa with gta4 graphics I'd be happy, was kinda dissapointed with gta4 and been sayin since it's release that I'd rather replay san andreas with better graphics. But looks like the next stop will be vice city.Too bad,can always keep playin san andreas on pc with mods though.

shit...my dream of a GTA Tokyo is gone crying

  • 0
naznatips (on 31 October 2009)

If they were pushing Red Dead Redemption they wouldn't bother hiding the location, and no release date is announced for the game. All they said was "early 2010" and considering they have had nothing new to show on the game since then it's unlikely they'll meet that goal. Not to mention they wouldn't call it the "next stop" and display it in the GTA art style.

Vice City had no mountains whatsoever. It was Miami. Have you ever freaking seen Miami? It's built on a dried up swamp by a beach. It's as flat as possible. This is NOT Vice City.

I've browsed the French forum and english ones, their are too many possible locations : Brittany (ouest coast of France), London, San Andreas and Seattle... Seattle seems my favored option.

Next GTA: you are a disgruntled theater major living in a college town on the coast?

Australia is too small time for a GTA game. That'd be like putting one in Canada

I've never been to France. Everytime I see it on T.V., it's in the cities. I guess that would be like the French asking is the US had deserts. lol!! I still want to see the game in Tokyo.

I tend to think [and hope] that the next GTA game will be based in Australia, as that pic sort of resembles part of the Sydney Opera House. GTA : Downunder? Awesome!!

Flynnymabob (on 29 October 2009)

Judging by Fadetoone's comment I think we may revisit San Andreas. But possibly without Las Venturas (Vegas) so basically California,

Has beaches, seagulls, mountains.

France has mountains and seagulls?

I'm thinking San Francisco, but who knows. It might end up in the U.K. They could come up with a decent story in that region. They should have done Tokyo first though.

drakesfortune (on 29 October 2009)

London would be great. I'd be happy with Vice City too, but I don't think they're going back there. I definitely think it's a new city, and probably a new part of the world.

All I know is that I want a much BIGGER world, with mother fucking planes. Period. Skies the limit, actually, it shouldn't be the limit. They should push themselves to push the boundaries further than San Andreas. I'm ready for a REAL push toward new, innovative things to do. In other words, everything they dialed back in GTA4 and more.

fadetoone (on 29 October 2009)

Sigh. Ignorant bastards.

First, March 2010 is Rockstar's next Red Dead Revolver game. It's a change of scenery by being a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT GAME. You really think they are going to have a complete unannounced GTA game within 6 months?

Second, you guys have horrible information concerning game settings:

GTA1 - Liberty City, Vice City AND San Andreas
GTA2 - Anywhere, USA
GTA3 - Liberty City
GTA Vice City
GTA San Andreas
GTA4 - Liberty City

Theatre Seagull is located in London so....

Makes sense since GTA 1 + 2 were in London

  • 0
TheFlyingDutchman (on 28 October 2009)

That's your opinion, I think it is the worst GTA game there is (same as the ds version of chinatown wars of course).
Planes? there wasn't much action in the air ...
3 cities? 1 good big city > 3 small cities
Hollywood? Why? why? why? why? why?

  • 0

  • 0

I hope its VICE CITY. I liked GTA:VC more than san andreas, especially the music of the 80's!

  • 0

@kowenicki That would be both completely unexpected and incredibly cool! Go portuguese speaking GTA, go go! ;)

  • 0
ultraslick (on 28 October 2009)

Putting a V next to GTA for the title of this news is incredibly ignorant. There next ITERATION of GTA is yet to come out yet. we have had some lackluster dlc.. that is all.

and I hope Rockstar does not drive this series into the ground by re-producing every city from the PS2 era on the PS3 and 360. Remakes are good and all, but the next full GTA game, (which will not be gta 5, that will wait till PS4) better be in a new city like tokyo, or return to London/Paris.

  • 0
MissingNo (on 28 October 2009)

"Opens Everywhere March" Damn March 2010 seems early but I guess that's almost 2 years. Bring on the next GTA!!!!

  • 0
quantumsaint (on 28 October 2009)

If it is Vice City, I hope they hurry and get it out the door so they can start working on a new San Andreas. I've always liked 3 + 4 because the police where I live are also called LCPD, but San Andreas takes the cake for best GTA.

Am I the only one that thought of HollyWood?

  • 0
specialops787 (on 28 October 2009)

Liberty City in GTA III is nothing like Liberty City in GTA IV besides the fact that they both have 3 large islands.

Any new GTA set in Vice City or San Andreas won't necessarily look significantly like the original ones.

  • 0
superbeast1370 (on 28 October 2009)

San Andreas is way too damn Ghetto. VC is far superior.

  • 0
chazy13 (on 28 October 2009)

hope they make a new location for this one

  • 0

Obviously, it's Cleveland, Ohio, with our lush mountains (of homeless people and street garbage) and our countless seagals (in parking lots.)

Yes sir, this could be the best GTA yet!

San andreas was horrible

  • 0

san andreas was better than vc cuz it came out later and was much much bigger...if they would make a vc that big, it'd be amazing

it has to be VC.

WHICH GTA game sold more than the others by an exponentially large amount, GTA:SA!

WE WANT A GTA:SA REMAKE!

  • 0
thekitchensink (on 28 October 2009)

@PlaystationGamer: Almost every GTA has been set in Liberty City. I think the only ones that haven't been are Vice City, San Andreas, and London.

  • 0
PlaystaionGamer (on 28 October 2009)

o vice city...
great game but i dont think GTA has run out of citys so why are they remaking them all again?

  • 0
Nik24 (on 28 October 2009)

uk confirmed?

  • 0
thekitchensink (on 28 October 2009)

Yeah, probably Vice City.

This likely also means the game will be on the 360, as opposed to a PS3 exclusive like some are saying.

  • 0
Tridrakious (on 28 October 2009)

Vice City seems likely. But will it be DLC or GTA 5?

  • 0
rafichamp (on 28 October 2009)

Everyone knows its Vice City

  • 0
themanwithnoname (on 28 October 2009)

The Vice City radio station they added to the Episodes disc is probably the biggest support for it being the location of the next game.
