Sony really needs to ramp up releasing greatest hits games. The system is closing in on 3 years. Surely there are more games that have met the requirements to be labled greatest hits games. I wonder if they will expand the greatest hits line to the PSN?

Squall_Leonhart (on 17 June 2009)

I agree that they really need to make these cases the same for the EU!! I go out of my way and usually pay more to get the non-platinum version since the yellow and silver looks truly awful lol

I guess that a wide budget priced SW library will give its best fruits when PS3 will receive a price cut and/or a lower priced Slim version. I guess too that similar moves by Nintendo, wide selection of low priced hits and finally the long awaited price cut would make Wii sales skyrocket, easily allowing it to exceed 150million sales, possibly even 200million by the end of this gen. An end of gen scenario with Wii in the 150-200million units sold range and PS3 and XB360 in the 70-110million range would mean a great future for the gaming market, it would grant the next gen to be easy and fruitful both in profits and games for all the competitors, so let's hope it happens (and even better, if possible).

Wow, the red color is less disturbing than before. Now the same for Europe, Sony!

V-r0cK (on 17 June 2009)

Still waiting for Uncharted *sigh...might pick up R&C =)

Staude (on 17 June 2009)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Qae_TUTeGo :P This should put it well.

Kantor (on 17 June 2009)

I miss the old days, when Platinum games were Silver. Now they're all yellow and horrible.

Griffin (on 17 June 2009)

MGS4 has already priced at about $30 since the holidays, and i've seen the collectors edition for as low as $35 so i would not expect any boost in sales from that game.

outlawauron (on 17 June 2009)

It doesn't have the red case anymore. Just the red strip.

Bullet100000 (on 17 June 2009)

MGS4 for $30 bucks that's insane if I didn't already own a copy I would buy it!!!

Seece (on 17 June 2009)

Maybe its just Europe then, take a look on google, truly horrific!

Tridrakious (on 17 June 2009)

In America it's a red "jewel" case.

JEDE3 (on 17 June 2009)

I thought it was just a red case...

Seece (on 17 June 2009)

Ugh yeah it has that awful yellow strip, I don't know why anyone would pick that up over the nice normal packaging ...

Seece (on 17 June 2009)

JEDE3, isn't all greatest hits packaging atrocious?

JEDE3 (on 16 June 2009)

seece - I dont think its the price drop that gives the games the boost. I think its more of the new packaging that catches peoples attention that are just browsing.

ChichiriMuyo (on 16 June 2009)

Yes, yes they do. I generally won't pay more than $30 for a game unless I know it's really good. Most games just aren't worth even a penny over $30

jmcraddock (on 16 June 2009)

MGS4 is already Greatist Hits? Wow, its only been just 1 year. But now I'm more amped to get that game. Think inFAMOUS and LittleBIGPlanet can wait.

coolbeans (on 16 June 2009)

or I already played on 360

coolbeans (on 16 June 2009)

MGSIV for me, everything else is meh to me.

Seece (on 16 June 2009)

Do price drops actually affect whether a gamer gets a certain game? seriously if you are holding out for a 10$ price cut on Uncharted you should be ashamed of yourself lol

PeteyPeeps (on 16 June 2009)

heavenly sword has been platinum for like 6 months ........

ROBOTECHHEAVEN (on 16 June 2009)

army of two, battlefield bad company are $19.99 at walmart. so ppl will be paying $10 more for those 2 games being in the greatest hits now.

EdStation3 (on 16 June 2009)

Nintendo does, or they did on the past. "Player's Choice". Guess they just haven't gotten around to the Wii yet.

dizzydee_011 (on 16 June 2009)

Ratchet and Clank and Devil May Cry 4 are on my next to buy list. I wonder why Nintendo doesn't have a Greatest Hits thing like Sony. I've been waiting for games like Zelda TP and Super Paper Mario to drop in price. Both have been out for almost 3 years already come on Nintendo.

hduser (on 16 June 2009)

Still waiting for Heavenly Sword to go platinum.

KylieDog (on 16 June 2009)

A lot of these are been Platinum in Europe for a while, the others are sold at Platinum price or lower anyway. Some of you should look into importing, R&C can easily be had for £10 here if you look online, beats the Greatest Hits price.

FilaBrasileiro (on 16 June 2009)

No way hunter, you can already get AoT for 20 bucks

hunter_alien (on 16 June 2009)

Great news... now MGS 4 will have some stabil sales :D Oh and Army of 2 might actually have a shot at a million :D

Snake612 (on 16 June 2009)

Finally, Ratchet and Clank is priced at 29.99. All I need is for there to be a price drop for Uncharted.
