Why are people complaining that FFXIII isn't out yet and they're presenting FFXIV? This is the same thing that happened when they showed FFXIII, FFXII wasn't even out yet.

WHO CARES IF ITS AN MMO, Its final fantasy. The next will be 15 and seeming as 14 is so soon 15 will probably be away meaning = Get as many FF as u can to keep the coming years FF-busy. For that you now need a PS3.

Terrible, FF13 isn't out yet. SE should be focusing it's resources on FF13 and getting that out to the public, god knows we've been waiting long enough. Plus a MMO Final Fantasy? Didn't they learn from 11? Also, console exclusive MMO = Garbage. MMO's are hard to play on consoles, look at Everquest Adventures. Sure you could play it, but you can do SO much more on a PC Everquest. Not to mention that knowing square-enix this game will almost certainly NOT be free.

Think of 2013 as the release date.

Ehhh, something I may or may not try on my PS3. If anything I would probably just go with it on my PC simply because of the controls. If at all. We will have to see how this one turns out. Not really surprising considering that Japan is a strong region for the PS3, and FF for that matter.

I assume it will be simultaneous release with the PC version, because that wasn't the case for FFXI, where the PC version launched well before the PS2 version.

I tried FFXI on PC for a month and I liked it, but the controls were wonky and it seemed like it would take too much of my time to fully appreciate it. Hopefully SE has learned some things and make this even better. If this is releasing in 2010, how long have they been working on it? Was this Project Rapture?

FF XI released at the wrong time for a console MMO.... I think they learned from that and FFXIV will improve tremendously. They said it will be released in 2010 also.

ok....don't care about it if it is an MMO. I own and have played every single FF game, but I refuse to play MMO's...so if it is, then yet another title on PS# fails to entice me to be willing to pay $400 for a system.

I remember when FFXIII was exclusive. I also don't know why Sony chose to announce this before FFXIII has even been released. Seriously, why tell us something is comming out in 5 years, lol

Yeah, I'm not really going to get excited for another Final Fantasy game when the newest one has taken nearly 5 years just to come out. But if it makes the Playstation owners happy more power to it. Honestly though when I think Final Fantasy I think story driven single player RPG, the previous Final Fantasy online was lackluster at best.

Alas, MMOs never stay exclusive - as the install base is critical to profitability. But it should be a great looking game, and do well in Japan.

I think this news just hurt 360 sales of FFXIII a little bit. If people own both PS360 then they will more likely buy for the PS3. People who had 360 already and were just going to pick up FFXIII. But now they may pick up a PS3 and the PS3 version cause FFXIV will be on the PS3. It will in fact affect sales whether it is a couple of thousand or a million copies worth of sales. So basically 360 owners... How does this make you feel? I ask only because another poster asked the same when Sony lost exclusivity on FFXIII. :P
