Rumor: Dead Rising 4 Coming to Xbox One and PC, Remake of Original Dead Rising - News

by William D'Angelo , posted on 06 June 2016 / 10,864 Views

NeoGaf insider Ekim has revealed on Twitter that Dead Rising 4 is in development for the Xbox One and Windows 10 PC. It is a remake of the original Dead Rising set during Christmas time and will feature four player co-op.

The game is expected to be revealed at E3 2016 next week.

Screenshots of the game have also been leaked to ThisGenGaming:

Kotaku is reporting it has seen the same poster (as show above) from another source, which helps corroborate the leak.

The last game in the franchise, Dead Rising 3, released in 2013 as an Xbox One exclusive launch title.

The information should be treated as a rumor until an official announcement is made.

Yeah. I knew the 3rd game (besides a new Resident Evil and Monster Hunter) would be Dead Rising 4. I'm excited :D

Kinda hoped this would be on PS4 too but as long as I get moar DR it's ok.

This is one of those games that shouldnt be exclusive because we all know it wont do anything to move xb1 sales but if capcom doesnt have the money to fund it then it makes sense for MS to step in. It is either that or no game at all.

It's "exclusive" because of its history on Xbox consoles, nothing to do with MS attempt to boost sales and DR3 sold 2 million units on X1. However I do see MS make a limited edition Dead Rising console with the first and second game as backwards compatible.

Still it comes from a third party developer which automatically make the game perfect as a multiplats. If it is exclusive, its because MS paid for it, not because of the history with xbox. A lot of games were associated with playstation that made their way to xbox, not to metion a lot of those sold much better on ps4 such as the souls series. I have no doubt DR4 would have sold better on ps4 regardless of how much DR3 sold on xb1.

The souls series sells on multiple plats anyway and meant more money for them, but then we have games that don't sell well despite there being more plats to throw a game onto at times.

Don't understand your point at all. I used the souls series as a example that the game doesn't sell on xbox nowhere near in proportion to ps4 sales and yet, it still made his way to xbox and as far as I know, the souls series got its popularity with demon souls which is a ps3 exclusive.

Could say the same for PC, it doesn't have to be exactly equal or greater. There are always going to be exclusive games that go multiplat for money reasons or games that still stay exclusive via money deals despite that they could sell more on other plats. Also I look at Rockband and how well that worked out, it still shows that not every game is destined to sell well just because of a 40m userbase, sae with Xbox.

Which is why I said that if this game is exclusive, it is because MS paid for it, not because of the "history with xbox". If Capcom had funded the game, this game would have released as many platform as possible.

I don't think capcom would have funded a dead rising game by themselves which is why I said, I'm fine with it being exclusive because it was either that or no game at all.

I'm aware, I just don't really agree with the first line you had said since I;m one that believes that most should be multiplat (talking the majority of games here).

If you want to play the entire saga you have to have XBox console anyway since Case Zero and Case West are only available on XBL on the 360 but I'm sure the will be added to the backwards compatibility list along with Dead Rising and Dead Rising 2 and Dead Rising 2 Off The Record.

Microsoft still betting on these obsolete game series. Another guaranteed flop.

Dead Rising 3 sold more than 2 million on X1, definitely not a flop.
