Best Game of 2015 That Nobody Played

Best Game of 2015 That Nobody Played - Article

Gaming can be a rough business, and we're often reminded that putting out a good game doesn't mean you'll find success. In our Best Game That Nobody Played category we celebrate the great games that sold poorly. This year's nominees included some fantastic games, including Media Molecule's Tearaway Unfolded, Platinum Games' Transformers Devastation, 3DS RPG Stella Glow, and Vita rhythm game Superbeat: Xonic.

The Nominees:

Tearaway Unfolded

And the Winner is...

Tearaway Unfolded

Community's Choice - Tearaway Unfolded (45% of the votes)

Despite being a fantastic game, Tearaway just can't find an audience. While many were hopeful that Media Molecule's adorable platformer would fare better on PlayStation 4 than it did on the PlayStation Vita, that hope seems to have been misguided.

But it's not you, Iota, it's us. Those that did pick up Tearaway Unfolded were treated to a spectacular twist on what was already a great game. The platformer managed to use both the PlayStation camera and DualShock 4 in innovative ways and the adorable characters and art style translated incredibly well to the larger screen. Tearaway Unfolded is, unfortunately, proof that even the best games can bomb, and is our Best Game of 2015 That Nobody Played.

Saddest list of the year?

TheGreatGamerGod (on 08 January 2016)

They should do another list, best unpublished game forgotten by publishers in 2015. My moneys on Zelda 2016. Apart from less than 30 seconds of footage it was MIA almost all year.

Pretty much, Pavolink.

+TheGreatGamerGod It was actually only 13 seconds.

That makes it even more depressing.

+TheGreatGamerGod more than depressing, it's infuriating.

Give them time, they might find something worse.

I still want to play Stella Glow, too bad it isn't out in Europe yet. I'll get it when it gets a discount on the eShop.

Stella Glow is so good you guys. I hope more people play it.

Tearaway is such an amazing game, it's a shame to see it on this list. :(

naruball (on 08 January 2016)

Why anyone would downvote such a comment is beyond me.

Tearaway seems too kiddy: needs guns and blood and nudity and curse words. Can't be a good game otherwise. /sarcasm

KLAMarine (on 08 January 2016)

On a related note, how many did Tearaway sell? I mean sure, maybe it didn't sell millions but perhaps it sold enough to justify the effort in porting the game?

Yay, Tearaway Unfolded is so good... unfortunately it sold so bad...

Good choice, but I think Soma should be on the list too. Sadly U_u

I still need to play that game. I hear the story is amazing. Its been a while i've been wow'd by a good story.

Transformers Devastation was fantastic and easily one of the best Transformers games ever made. It's a shame it was quietly released as a budget title with little fanfare. Anyone who enjoys Platinum Games titles do yourself a favor and get it.

Did Tomba the Elephant sell well? I never see it mentioned but I thought that was that was ignored. No one on my X1 friend's list owns it.

Superbeat: Xonic for me for sure, tearaway is a winner on ps4 but many people played the original so i feel a bit mixed about it

bigtakilla (on 08 January 2016)

Had Transformers Devastation, played it, was not really impressed.
