Prey for the Gods Announced, Channels Shadow of the Colossus - News
by Craig S , posted on 18 October 2015 / 4,417 ViewsToday - 18th October - marks the 10th anniversary of the release of Team Ico's PlayStation 2 masterpiece Shadow of the Colossus in North America. Whether it's by accident or design, a three-man development studio called No Matter Studios has also happened to unveil its debut project, called Prey for the Gods, and it's clearly heavily inspired by Shadow of the Colossus.
As you can see in the trailer and screenshots in this article, Prey for the Gods is instantly reminiscent of Shadow of the Colossus.

The player engages in a brutal and largely isolated journey through a frozen land and must slay the Gods he worships in order to survive. The Gods in question are giant beasts which must be scaled, tricked and, ultimately, slain.

Prey for the Gods is in development for Windows PC and Mac.

3 man studio?! Respect.
I hope they manage to pull it off.
Channeling =/= Ripping Off
No consoles? :'(
Agreed. I'd love it for PS4.
Don't hold your breath on that. Sony would likely buy the studio, fund it, and rename the project "Shadows of the Colossi".
If it does well, I'm sure it'll find its way to the consoles on the online stores at least.
A 3 man development studio? This is very reaching. I doubt theres any sort of game here nor will there be for a very long time.
Indeed it is. They appear to be using Unreal Engine 4 I believe, SK they have a lot of foundational stuff done. And they have access to all Epic-made resources on the marketplace that can be used for any project, profit oriented or otherwise. So with the right skill set among them, this is entirely possible.
3 people did all this?! Well bloody hell, I hope it's good!
Looks interesting, yeah it really looks like a complete rip off but I'm fine with it but its a downer that there's no consoles. Anyway i hope they can pull it off.
There might have been a time when I would have called "rip-off" and said it was stupid to steal ideas. But in this age of half-decade development cycles, development hell, and cult classics that will never get sequels, I'm happy that indie devs can step in and start making the games we wish we had. "They won't make a sequel to SotC that builds and improves upon the idea? Fine, WE will!" Here's just hoping it is indeed an improvement and has the same awesome feel.
