Kamiya: Goal for Scalebound is to Increase the Value of the Xbox One and Show its Power - News

The co-founder of Platinum Games, Hideki Kamiya, has told Metro that the goal of Scalebound is to increase the value of the Xbox One and to show off the power of the console.

"One thing with every project that at least I have been working on, throughout my entire career, is that I would like to earn the trust of not just the players but also our partners, such as publishers," said Kamiya. "And when I have built and earned that trust there’s mutual, hopefully, respect and trust that I need to deliver what is expected of me. And until that is done my work isn’t complete. I cannot put out a product that does not meet the expectations that we mutually agreed would be delivered.

"So in terms of, say, Scalebound, which is an exclusive title for Xbox One, my ultimate goal and mission is that this will help appeal to, and also heighten the value, of not just my game but also the console, and show the power of what Xbox One can do."

Scalebound is set to release on the Xbox One in late 2016.

If that's his attitude, no wonder Platinum is getting so many great contracts. Scalebound looks great.

It should. The gameplay looked promising.

I just hope MS isn't placing too much pressure on this game substantially improving Xb one's performance in Japan. Looks like it will be a worthy addition to the Xb one library. Makes me miss Draken: The Ancient's Gate.

See, this part of his character is good. This is why Platinum gets contracts like they have. The reason they can't seem to maintain consistent good relations very long is because Kamiya is such a loose cannon when it comes to PR. If he could learn to control himself there, I think his future and Platinum's could be even brighter.

Yeah I'd have to agree, Kamiya is so anti-consumer. A dude who gets annoyed and blocked his fans for asking questions and being a stakeholder in his business. Opinions are wrong if they're not his. Hes so opposite what you expect from a typical Japanese person who is so smiley and humble

I'm usually not a fan of these Japanese developed RPGs - but this one has my attention as an Xbox owner. That trailer spoke to all my gaming nerves.
