Acclaimed indie game Ori and the Blind Forest became profitable after just one week of availability, according to Moon Studios developer Thomas Mahler.

"Business-wise, Ori was already profitable a week after release," said Mahler in a post on NeoGAF. "Microsoft is super happy, so we'll see about Ori's future."

Ori and the Blind Forest released for Xbox One and Windows last week to critical and commercial success (we loved the game, for what it's worth. Check out our review here). A port to Xbox 360 is expected to come later this year.

Good job! Maybe it can become one of Microsoft's franchises.

Im not sure he teased a sequel, but theyre obviously interested in continuing the franchise. They made this apparent pretty much the day Ori and the Blind Forest was released.

They however are thinking about their next project which included multiple things including Ori.

That is so good to hear. Games like this need more exposure.

I just hope even if they work for MS that they don't get bought out. It's the kiss of death for any studio like Rare or Twisted Pixel. With MS collabs are much better.
