Former Remedy, Guerrilla Games, Digital Chocolate. and Rovio developers have formed a new mobile studio called Helsinki GameWorks. The studio is based in Finland. There are 11 employees which feature "experienced game industry executives and senior experts."
"I am thrilled to announce our team, which has worked the breadth of the industry and has come together to realize a shared vision of modern mobile games," said Helsinki GameWorks CEO Kalle Kaivola. "This team works out of a passion for delivering deeply captivating experiences for the contemporary gamer."
The new studio is focused on developing mid-core mobile games. The first game will be free-to-play that will use physics based gameplay that is "cutting-edge."
A life-long and avid gamer, William D'Angelo was first introduced to VGChartz in 2007. After years of supporting the site, he was brought on in 2010 as a junior analyst, working his way up to lead analyst in 2012. He has expanded his involvement in the gaming community by producing content on his own YouTube channel and Twitch channel dedicated to gaming Let's Plays and tutorials.
