I wonder if they expect it to sell at all...
There is a few things working against Microsoft.......
- A percentage of Japan people just wouldn't buy an American anything, its not all Japanese people however, its a still factor.
2.Japan is the worst market for to try to sell a home console in. Last generation the Wii did 12-13 million in sales and PS3 did 8-9 million which is a about 8-12 percent of each consoles sales worldwide.
3.For some reason the Xbox just never took there and that is factor working against the Xbox One in of itself nevermind the what are the causes of it.
4.They are really late to the party this time and people Sony said was crazy for launching three months after the initial launch :P.
Honestly what is their main selling point going to be? Unless they've lined up the remake of FF7 exclusively on the X1 in Jap on launch I really don't see many shifting. But can only wait and see really.
I'll be surprised if they sell 100-200 per week after the launch week.
I'm not expecting miracles after the performance of the PS4 in Japan, but every new generation is another chance for Microsoft to start fresh with their image. Right now, their consoles are seen as consoles for obsessed video game collectors over there, so if they can figure out how to market it this time around, maybe they could actually compete.
Xbox in Japan.... :D :D :D M$ don't care humiliation
XBOX In Japan is just too damn cute to even take seriously.
Why on Earth does MS even try in Japan???? If last gen proves anything MS does not need Japan at all to do very well. MS should not even release in Japan, that probably would cause the people over there to want the XB1 more. Just focus on N America and Europe and y the time 8th gen winds down MS could be 1 or 2 mill behind Sony just like now...no big deal. BTW: MS totally dominated Sony/PS3. So what the 360 is behind a mill or so in console sales, the 360 has sold 64 million more games than the PS3. That is where the $ is at.
sorry to break it to you but while your on about the 7th gen and how the You have completely contradicted yourself, "If last gen proves anything", it proves nothing, the PS2 during the 6th gen sold over 150 million consoles and god know how much software, you have pretty much used the same naive attitude Sony took when they released the PS3, they also thought because of what happened during the 6th gen they would dominate the 7th gen only they didn't, you really think 1 gen makes all the difference and selling x amount of software more than one 7th gen console when only last year saw the last PS2 game released so PS2 software also still counted completely renders that 64 million more to Sony's PS3/PS2/PSP/PSV software sales, you need to open your eyes a bit more.
