Angry Birds Downloaded 30M Times Christmas Week

Angry Birds had a successful Christmas, according to developer Rovio. On Christmas day the franchise was downloaded more than eight million times and more than 30 million times during Christmas week. Also for there was one Angry Birds downloaded for each new Android or iOS activated.

Rovio also announced they had reached more than one billion downloads on the release of four new mobile games, as well as two new Facebook games. Angry Birds Star Wars has held the number one spot on the iPhone charts since it was released.

The other Android/iOS news article you posted here says there was 50million Android/iOS devices activated on Christmas week, how then is the 30Million angry birds downloads over this week equal to 1 per device? That whole sentence in fact just doesn't look correctly written.

Is this purely new users? What percentage of these is people who have received an UPGRADE to their current smart phone as a Christmas present? How many of these where a simple game update download? To me free games are skewed results as I have several times updated games and or deleted them because files got corrupted or the game would start crashing after an update only to download them again fresh.

indeed, it's not like Microsoft or Sony declares numbers for how many pictures of games or even demos of games which people have downloaded from psn and Xbl because they don't generate money , they're freeeee. To brag so much about being able to give stuff away for free just sounds sad.
