Top 10 Selling Xbox 360 Games

Looking at the top 10 bestselling games for the Xbox 360, it is easy to see how much the Call of Duty franchise dominates the top 10. Five of the top 10 games are for the Call of Duty Franchise, two for the Halo franchise, and one a piece for the Kinect, Grand Theft Auto, and Gears of War franchises. Four of the top 10 games are exclusive, while the other six are on other platforms, mainly the PlayStation 3.

The five Call of Duty games sold a combined 56.04 million units or 11.21 million each on average. This is also 51.1 percent of the total games sold in the top 10. The two Halo games sold a combined 20.64 million units or 10.32 million each on average. This is also 18.8 percent of the total games sold in the top 10.

Top 10 Selling Xbox 360 Games

Taking a look at the top 10 bestselling games for the Xbox 360 all the games have had some sort of bundle to help boost sales, however Kinect Adventures! is the only game that has been bundled 100 percent of the time. For every Kinect that is sold, whether separate or with an Xbox 360 it comes with Kinect Adventures!

As a quick note the top five games sold more than 10 million units. Also the top 17 games sold more than five million units and the top 73 sold more than two million. 151 games sold more than one million units and 301 games sold more than 500,000 units.

The writer states that most of the games in the top ten are CoD and available on other consoles. I'm assuming he knows the PS3 Top ten is going to look similar to xbox right?

You're not accounting for people with multiple gtags, people who borrow friends' games, used game sales and people who only bought Halo ODST.

Oh and Halo Gears weren't heavily bundled neither has CoD. So that point is irrelevant.

That will include downlaods from Games of Demand on Xbox lIve. VGChartz can't track downloads, the 11.56m will be the number of physical copies.

VGC quality of data varies, for software it almost useless. I don't blame VGC though, it is really hard to track these things. I wish they would listen to official press releases though. Kinect sits at 19 million a few months ago... I doubt there are 3 million (!!!) Kinects in stores.

Diablo III sold more than 8 million - VGC has it at 2.5 million, which means 4-5 million sold via steam, which is unrealistic.

You mean Blizzard's online store? Because I am 99.9% sure that you can't buy Blizzard games on steam.
