$200 Super Slim? That would be freaking awesome, and it releases in November sometime for the Holiday rush. That would be the perfect storm for Sony to pass up MicroSoft sales in a hurry.

Could certainly be a good way for sony to take some of the focus off of WiiU. For me my brothers always at me to buy a 'real console' so if this comes with a price cut could finally be the right time.

seems like the size will be between PS2 and PS2 Slim

Doubt it will be that small, more like a normal PS2 I reckon. PS2 slim was tiny and current PS3 slim is far bigger than a PS2 in volume. Baring in mind the original PS2 had room for a 3.5inch hard drive and the slim didn't. Also, the PS2 had lots of unused space inside, the PS3 slim does not.

@ fillet - the original PS2 is pretty big, almost the size of the original X360. I know because I'm looking at them right now.

haxxiy, I also own a PS2, sure width ways it's similar but depth much smaller, and general compactness visible much smaller than an Xbox 360. My apologise for the non technical wording but a PS2 to me feels "small". A PS3 slim and an Xbox 360 does not.

Will be nice to pick up a second PS3, I need more HDD space anyways.

A price cut seems unlikely. That would make it even cheaper than the Vita. A platform more in need of a price cut.

"even smaller"....it's not like the slim ps3 is small anyway.

I would say I want one. That however won't happen since they limit your PSN purchases to two consoles. I already have three and am constantly needing to de-activate and re-activate different ones when I want to play games.

Smart move by Sony they come out with a new PS3 so uneducated people think its totally new console. And informed people buy it because its smaller cooler and needs less power (even my PHAT is silent so I dont see the super slim becoming more silent lol)

So Nintendo loses potential money because less people might buy a WiiU.

Best thing they could do without announcing a PS4.

BTW Im a Nintendo Fan but even I have to admit its a smart move by Sony.

Anyways I have my PHAT Ps3 and its good enough so no new PS3 for me but I'm waiting for my WiiU fix! Btw. I also have a 360 Slim and a PC.

So PEACE my gaming brothers and sisters no matter what platform you belong to!

I think for some time now, that surely at least one of the competitors will spit in Nintendos soup by announcing it's next-gen-console shortly (one or two months) before the WiiU hits the shelves.

If this releases at that price in November, WiiU will be taking a big hit. PS3 at that price with the gaming catalog it has will be hard to pass up if you are looking at WiiU or PS3.

Microsoft should not be as affected but this could be a big, "win" for Sony over Nintendo. As a Nintendo die-hard, this news could be scary.

I'm actually looking into buying a PS3 compatible version on Ebay. I don't won't a PS3 that doesn't play PS2 games so it's a no go for me.

It will likely stay at $250, while the old PS3s fall to $200.
