Rising Star Games Opens US Studio, New VP, New Game Announced - News

Rising Star Games, the UK-based publisher, has made three announcements today. The first of which is the opening of a new studio in the United States. The publisher has also announced a new title, as well as a new vice president of operations, Phil Robinson.

Robinson had previously worked at Tradewest Games, as well has working with midway to expand its operations in the UK and the rest of Europe. "After hearing Rising Star's plan to move into the North American market, I jumped at the opportunity to build the company's foundation here in the States," said Robinson. "The title lineup for this year will be aggressive, diverse, and mark the beginning of a really thrilling time at the company."

"There's no better person than Phil to join the Rising Star Games family and be the first employee in the US," said Martin Defries, managing director of Rising Star Games. "Phil's background gives us the ability to hit the ground running and bring our lineup to the US market swiftly and effectively."

Rising Star Games first title for the new US studio will be Cave's Akai Katana. The game is set is to be released in the second quarter of 2012 and will be for the Xbox 360.

These guys brought KoF13 to PAL regions, so they're ok in my books. Nice to see them localizing Cave SHMUPs

What's Rising Star? Why aren't there any developed/published games listed? They localized Deadly Premonition in UK? Cool.

I love these guys. Unlike the useless Namco Bandai, they actually bothered to publish Deadly Premonition in the UK and now that they're expanding to the States, you guys might actually get to play Way of the Samurai 4.
