If Day 1 sales in North America were a combined 890k for PS3 and 360, then pre-orders were way over tracked......I'm worried for XenoBlade, it deserves sales!

I think Mass Effect 3 will be my personal GOTY, but I'm not 100% sure it will win the GOTY awards. If Resident Evil 6 is anything like Resident Evil 4, there will be some competition.

Years first block buster yes , still it's early days but talking GOTY so far for me , it's Journey.

does anyone even care that you cant import your character youve been playing from me1 on? its supposed to be one of the main features of the game and its broken. to me its the 2nd worst day one bug ive experienced in 20 years of gaming.

I never understood this, Uncharted 3 shipped 3.8 million on its first day and had a much lower sell-trough number on vgchartz. Anybody can explain this?

Not jut VGC, Uncharted didn't sell 890k in NA in its first month, let alone first day, so don't discrediting VGC. Sony obviously shipped a lot of Uncharted.

Not all pre-orders will be day one sales surely? Or is that how it works in terms of calculating day 1 sales? D1S=Pre-orders+walk up sales?

Still 3.5 million global shipment is fantastic. It's also available for DL on PSN, and I assume XBL. So there will be a few sales going through that channel too for the legion of DD fans out there who will make all consoles go DD only next gen :-P

It's a very good game that's for sure. The endings are a little unsatisfying. One available with a high enough Galactic Readiness no. is a bit better I hear. They feel rushed despite the added dev time. Witcher 2 may be my goty but this will win plenty.

There is no question at all that Mass Effect is the first blockbuster of the year in North America for video games. It will certainly be nominated for Game of the Year by many publications but I wonder if the massive controversy over the endings will prevent the game from actually winning any.

At least in terms of sales, Mass Effect 3 is definitely the biggest game of Q1 2012 and likely the biggest one for the first half of this year. No game confirmed for release in Q2 looks big enough to challenge Mass Effect 3's numbers in North America.

Been playing co-op non stop since I got the game on release day. Definitly my 2012 GOTY so far and I don't see anything in the pipeline that can beat it..

I've been hearing this game follows the same path of me2 with a bad story and less loot options from me1. Safe to say my personal boycott was a good move. I'll just play mass effect again and enjoy a real rpg. I think it's time for bioware to go back to the drawing board and get back to what worked for their fan base.

Cut my first playthrough off at 31 hrs to see the ending. Enjoyed the hell out of it. Best in the series. Maybe my fav. this gen.

Come on kowe you have to admit they have been watering down this series. This game doesn't deserve to be mentioned as goty candidate just like me2 didn't either. The sad thing is I don't think the original got nominated as a goty and it was far a better game than me2...and I'll have to assume me3 since I won't be wasting my money.
