Fable's Main Quest Takes 15-20 Hours to Complete, Side Content is Similar Length - News
by William D'Angelo , posted 1 day ago / 938 ViewsPlayground Games associate game director Will Kennedy in a Q&A at Gamescom revealed the main quest for Fable will take between 15 to 20 hours to complete, while side content will take a similar amount. The life systems will also add a limitless amount of hours.
"We have around 15-20 hours of mainline quest gameplay, we have around 15-20 of side and open-world exploration content gameplay," said Kennedy (via Polygon). "And then, of course, the life systems are limitless, so you can play them for as long as you want."
Associate game director Craig Little added, "As Will just said, you can literally play it forever if that’s what you want to do."

The 15 to 20 hours to complete the main quest would make it longer than the original Fable games that took around 12 to 14 hours to complete.
Fable will launch for the for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam and Microsoft Store, and Xbox Game Pass on February 23, 2027.

That seems like it could be a really good length. It could probably afford to be a tad longer, depending on how it feels, but I'd much rather have something that feels just right or even a bit too short than something that feels way too long (which is a lot of games these days).
I prefer a meaningful 15 hour campaign over a bloated filler-filled 60 hours (looking at you, Assassins Creed Valhalla) any day. I understand that your preference/ calculation may vary depending on disposable income/ disposable time. But if anything, this makes me more interested in the game.
Valhalla has the worst length of any game I've played, period. I didn't simply rush through the main story, so around 60 hours I was starting to feel like the game should end soon, and by 120 hours, when I finally finished the game, I was annoyed by the length. Terrible design length-wise. It still had its moments until the end, but it had definitely overstayed its welcome. Mirage had a much sweeter length, Shadows was again on the longer side but nowhere near Valhalla.
I've definitely grown to appreciate shorter games, and 15 hours isn't even that short. Back in the day, games were often around 10 hours, give or take a few hours, and short lengths were criticized, but it was also fine.
Wow, that's pretty short. I guess they are thinking the Sims elements will make it feel longer. Just lounging about and watching what the NPCs are doing or something.
Hmm, expected more to be honest. Although, it will be on GP; so not really unexpected. It will be interesting to see how many people pay $80?
