When it comes to the database portals, the challenges are a bit off, so for one of the most awkward, here's a solution: When you can't use a recovery item for the challenge, just equip Oathkeeper (obtained after you clear Hollow Bastion,) And you can recover health with regen every time you pull off a combo on an enemy, and it will decrease the damage you take overall.
